Got an 04 CV8 and, tbh, I think the wheels are only ok-ish.
I hope to be in a position to buy some new and more blingy ones in the spring.
I like the 05 VXR ones but, at £950 EACH I don't think I'll be going for those!

What would one recommend?
Also, what size are the wheels themselves 'cos no wheel site I've seen so far has the Monaro in its search facility.

Seen some very nice ones on Pauls HSV Club site - yellow CV8 with 5 spokes and a chap stood in front of it.
Can't link to it 'cos it's a FLASH site but if anyone knows etc...

Nige, important to make sure that the offset is correct. Not sure what the fiqures are, but someone here will know.
It may be worth looking at Aus. & U.S.A sites as even with shipping, the prices for U.S accesories is normal way below U.K prices.
Always seen lots of wheels on Aus. sites when I've been looking at them & I guess the same would be true of U.S sites for the Pontiac GTO.

The name of that design wheel escapes me at the moment... something along the lines of Interceptor or Preditor or something like that. Will have a think about it, got a brochure at home when I was picking the wheels out for my car.

The wheels on mine are made by a company called Koya. Check out www.koyawheels.com/ They were pretty resonably priced. There are quiet a few of them back home to choose from. Will post some more sites when I get home.

Here are a load of websites for you to look at from Oz.
ROH wheels actually make the original wheels but also have a lot of their own designs.
www.roh.com.au

These next three are all stockists of original equipment wheels. Anything from a VT to a VZ would fit a Monaro.
www.nvu.com.au/products_show.php?cat=3 (Not sure if they export, drop them an email)
www.jhp.com.au/wheels.php (pretty sure these guys export stuff to the UK)
www.wheelking.com.au/wheel.htm

Some other Wheel manufacturers in OZ
www.csawheels.com.au
www.speedywheels.com.au
http://magwheelcentre.com.au//simmons.htm

These two have American and European wheels respectively.
www.wheelboyz.com/
www.carshine.com.au/

The last lot are wheel shops in Oz that import a lot of wheels from Asia. Normally all the shiny Chrome items!!! But also have most of the above mentioned already. Not to sure on the import from these places, probably best just to use them as to what is available.
www.donnellans.com.au/pages/1_home.php
www.tempetyres.com.au/
www.ttf.com.au/
www.bobjane.com.au/ ( There is one of those wheel configarators on this website- www.bobjane.com.au/Wheels/VirtualWheels.asp)

Monaro offset is 48mm(pos) acording to the bible!

As a guide I believe 18x8 wheels only are about $2000

I really like some of the genuine Holden/HSV designs.
Good thing about the wheels on the two HSV's that I've owned is that although they are heavy there massively strong.
Proof of this was a front blow out at close to 100mph, coasted to a halt, no rim damage at all! Might have been luck, but I doubt some of the aftermarket alloys I've had over the years would have survived that.

Very valid point....not all wheels designed to take the forces two tons and 150mph + exert on them, hate to think if u hit pot hole with heavy car!!! Rim can collapse.

Might stress then that nearly all of the original equipment wheels on the VT to VZ commodores/HSV's and Monaros are ROH wheels. If you look at ROH's own branded wheels, a few of them are very similar to various HSV/Holden wheels.

Ronal wheels are a very good bet.Fit these to Corvettes etc and I have 8" on front and 9.5" 0n rear.
Look on HSV drivers site in cars for sale to see pics of them.

For my money (and thats not much, to be fair), you cant go past the old VR/VS Clubsport 17" jobs. Getting a bit small by todays standards but they are a classic.
