monitor, diagnose and tune your own engine
Discussion
Hi all,
For those of us who like to know as much as we can about our cars Im pleased to announce that we are distributors for efilive in Europe.
See www.efilive.co.uk or www.efilive.com
You can log hundreds of PCM data items, diagnose your DTC codes, reset your fuel trims, tune your own vehicles, change to speed density etc, or for those less inclined to tinker we have teamed up with Chipmaster in OZ www.chipmaster.com.au/Services.htm and can supply tunes for any application. These guys are amongst the best in the world and have thousands of tunes under their belt. We also have a US partner for US vehicles which include trucks, cadillacs etc.
So if you have thought about what its like to ditch your maf and free up more power look no further. Of course you can also retain your maf and get the best tune available from the orginal land of the Holden.
We arnt here to replace the workshops that fit packages as we only sell tuning solutions. But we can sell you the same software the pro's use.
Stock and mild applications are likely to get a tune bang on from the word go.
Supercharged, turbo, nos any application we can sort you a tune for. Send us a log from a dyno or the track and our partners in Oz will tweak your tune to perfection.
Prices and product information are available from the website or our online shop http://stores.ebay.co.uk/efi-solutions
Regards
Richard

Yes, for the weekend driver who rarely looks under the bonnet you are probably better off having your car attended by the likes of Paul at Wortec or Allan at WRC etc. But if you want to have full control over every PCM table and calibration then maybe owning the software and cables yourself is better. This is in some cases the exact same software the tuners themselves use. You will certainly learn a hell of a lot about how the car works. As mentioned, we even have tunes from pro's available to get you started.

Sounds like an opportunity to make a right royal up of it tbh.
I'll leave it to those that know better than me - same as they do in my own field of expertise.
Steve, the OBDII to serial cable is available, but the interface device that does all the trick work is only available with the scan only option or with the tuners.
BigNige, yes you can make a good mess if you arnt careful. Its a mighty powerful tool, as long as you are prepared to spend the time and effort and use due care there should be no problem.

I already own the EFI live Flashscan product, and the Autotap tool on which it is based.
It is a truly great bit of kit even if you dont want to play with the map tables. You will find out so much about the way your engine works, how different parameters interact to give you a great drive. You can log zillions of things and view in realtime, the virtual dashboards are great, as well as routine fault code reading. I have a PCM with one of Pauls tunes in it which is just brilliant, but as a sad engineering type I do like to understand whats going on in there. A spare PCM will let you have a play, as Paul (very sensibly) locks his tune so you cant see or play with it. I recently met the guys from EFI live at the AAPEX show in Las Vegas, had a nice chat with them. Very knowledgeable and keen on what they do. I love the product and would recommend it to anyone with an interest in doing even basic diagnostics, or just learning a bit about how engine management works. Have a go !!
