So... to summarise...

Biglump's base lime
My Stage I
Daz's Stage II

This graph would be good for the FAQ page, so biglump, if its not too much trouble, it would provide useful information to the masses.

Sure! But getting time off from work at the moment may be a problem. I'll try though...

Count me in..

Power Engineering cant handle anything over 400bhp!
Plus their rollers were worn out and they couldn't tie the car down properly.. That was the case about 6 months ago. Good guys however.

How about we arrange a dyno day at Surrey Rolling road? I think you get a much better price as a group, could be a good day out too.

I know Charlie would be keen to do it, he does have a soft spot for the HSVs, I even think he's looking for one.

Ok lets organise it then.
When and who?

Id like to do a little fiddling with timing though rather than a straight dyno pull.. Hopefully Ill have a RoadRunner, its a replacement PCM that allows realtime changes to all PCM tables.

Maybe a saturday?

I'll see what I can do, might be able to take the afternoon off, wouldn't want to go on the dyno but would be good to see a std running.

Hmmm interesting results, the 05 VXR numbers have consistently puzzled me for a long time since B055 VXR first put his on a dyno. For your info our old 04 CV8 with headers, cat-back, MAF etc. made 420 FWHP on a RR. The dyno measured the RWHP on the 'rev up' and let the engine run down to measure the exponential drag - seemed to be a pretty accurate way of doing things.

Edited to add it made 389 FWHP before headers and MAF although that was on a different dyno however the gains seem pretty consistent with what would be expected.

Ok I was shot down in flames! The RWHP was circa 340hp IIRC...

Edited to add it was 318.9 before headers and MAF so gains seem to be in line with expectations...

VIXPY1 - been reading up on this and there seems to widescale agreement that this is not a very accurate measure..

The problem with it is it fools the customer, because generally places that use it do not give out the wheel fig unless you ask.

Am example would be a 200sx S13 i had in recently. It made 210 at the wheels and about 250bhp at the fly, which is what you would expect for the mods. However, somewhere else the same car mad 207 at the wheels and 295bhp at the fly. However this is 40bhp more than the turbo is capable of doing!

I am beginning to think that unless you test two or more cars on the same day, on the same dyno, in the same conditions and with the same operator that comparing the figures is completely useless!

I struggle to believe that a 5.7 with the same modifications as a 6.0 can match it for power.

Oh I just love these dyno debates, always conclusive
