Ive got a braided clutch line, cant tell if it feels any different though due to new clutch etc. The only problem with mine is that its a bit long so i think its catching the steering setup somewhere and rubbing, going to have a nose underneath and make sure its fully tied back

Is it a gearbox off job to fit it?

Im debating if it will solve my clutch issue i.e spongy pedal, ive tried the car in all gears at all sorts of revs and not getting any slip at all so im debating if the clutch is in need of replacement, all I get is the spongy pedal and sometimes it goes to the floor and is reluctant to come back up if being driven fast.

To fit a fully braided line, yes its a box off job. The line connects from the clutch slave which fits in the gearbox bellhousing, to the clutch master which is near the clutch res, follow the line back a bit and its thete.

Bollocks thought you might say that, its weighing up the options now, do I take the cheap option and fit a braided line and a proper clutch bleed line at the same time and hope it solves this pedal issue but risk it still being a problem after, or pay the full whack and get a new clutch done when theres a possibility its not needed?????

If your not doing the work yourself, i would do it with the a clutch swap. Its a bit of a pain in the arse job just to fit 2 pipes.

Your pedal issue might be linked to the master playing up, thats a gearbox in job

The clutch works perfectly fine 99% of the time, its only when driven hard, i.e Thunder road or on an long drawn out country road with a good few gear changes that it starts to throw up problems.

Would the master not be faulty all the time if it is that?

Debate no more. You need a clutch.

Hi James haven't had any more issues since I had LS7 fitted. Did the MF remote bleed and fitted the uprated crank oil seal at same time. Worth doing for what it cost.

Hi Charlie, hope your keeping well?

How come you did the crank oil seal? Remote bleed is a definate. Will get it all done next month, cant keep avoiding it!

Crank seal was weeping slightly which was only noticed when box was dropped. Probably contributed to the slip a little. MF said there was a superceded seal for the LS2. The guy who was doing the clutch swapped it over. Didn't take long. In fact I don't think he charged me extra for doing it.
The annoying thing is it could have been done under warranty if I had taken it to a VX dealer because of the seal but I wouldn't have got an LS7 in it.

PS I'm doing really good thanks.

Apologies for thread necromancy - can anyone confirm if Russell hoses p/n 692320 are correct for a Monaro VXR (and therefore a CV8 on VXR brakes)? That kit seems to show up variously as 4 and 6 hoses, and am struggling to confirm which brakes the GTOs run (12.6"? so 05/06 CV8 ones?). That Russell kit seems suspiciously cheap compared to whatever Russell VXR kit the fish sell.

04 kit? You mean just 4 hoses?

Are the VXR hoses extra long or funny fitment or something? Struggling to see why they cost so much!

Vxr rear calipers need longer hoses compared to stock cv8 or they get a bit tight to fit. 6 hoses, 1 for each caliper and further 1 each side near rear subframe.

btw monkfish will tell you that you might need to replace metal pipes too as the ends have a habit of shearing off due to age, roger warned me when i was discussing various bits with him last year.

Ta all. Not maligning MF, just a weirdly expensive bit of hose.

Looking for braided brake lines for my '05 CV8. I can see 6 pipes are needed.
Hel and other makes list VXR Monaro but I can't see CV8 listed anywhere. (and my brakes aren't AP's)
Will VXR braided lines fit '05 CV8?
