Hi Markys,
As you drive a awesome car already you might find the standard Monaro a bit slower! the VXR version will be slightly
more comparable "IF" it gets the full HSV GTO spec!!
The standard car will go 0-60 in around 6 sec and the VXR should be around 5 sec (not up to your 4.5sec car) and both
will top out around 160mph+
The big up side to this car is the engine which can be tuned to make over 400bhp without to much cost (£2000 ish)
and a visit to Mark at LSV (link on the club web site) could have you fitted with a supercharger and a easy 500+ bhp.
On a practical front it has 4 real seats (4 full sized people can go fast) servicing is just a oil change every 10,000 and
a few fluid changes every 3 yrs a normal service should be around the £70-£100 area (do it yourself for £35)
We all drive the HSV GTS which is a bit special and has many changes over the standard Monaro but we get 28-30mpg
on a long run and you will average around 21mpg, but town only will see 12mpg easily (so not for the town commute!!!)
Parts are not to bad for Holden bits BUT HSV parts can get a bit pricey!!! Mark at LSV has a good range in stock and knows
a lot about the cars.
If you do need to get parts outside the Vauxhall network they can be shipped from OZ in about 4 days and the
exchange rate is quite good!!
I am still waiting for my test drive !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
but CommodoreGS/E has one this afternoon so we will get his impressions today I hope.

Good question. I sold a Cerbera and bought a HSV GTS Why?.
1) The TVR in 18mnths was in the worshop for about 3mnths. Maybe unlucky!
2) I loved the Cerbera but realisically was a 2 seater. The HSV is bags of fun (although not as fast)and will take the family if required.
3) The HSV has great interest amongst car enthusiasts.
4) Running costs on HSV have been very low. No major repairs. Not much servicing and lower fuel costs.
If you put a HSV next to a TVR I would buy the TVR everytime based on my heart. It depends on how pratical you are.
Really not sure yet on Monaro, very worried about Vauxhall badge and really the more expensive version is the only real comparison.

Ok, so at last I have seen one at my local VX dealers, looking to test drive next week.
I now have come up with a couple of questions if anyone can answer :
1. What should I expect in depreciation, should I wait until second hand.
2. Does any child seats fit in the back ? Does it have ISOFIX ?
3. Does not seem very easy to get into the back seat, not much room between the seat back and door pilar.
4. Any discount avaliable.
5. Servicing cost.
The local dealer was unable to answer the questions but was able to tell me that he drove it at 120 MPH often !

Hi markys!
I've had my VXR for nearly two months now and it's a great ride.
The rear seats can be a little bit of a squeeze to get to but once in are very comfortable. They are the same size buckets as the front.
There was no chance of a discount when I got mine as it was the first one. I understand that only around 50 VXRs will be imported each year, so I'm hoping they will retain value for a while.
Servicing is very cheap. The vauxhall dealers are being kitted out with Monaro bays for servicing and I got a guaranteed price of £175 for the yearly/10k service.

I'm averaging 14mpg urban and expect to get 20-25mpg on the trip down to Cornwall tomorrow.
