I've noticed, over the last few weeks, a definite change in the comments about the Tamora. There was so much negative comment about the styling, loss of the V8, etc., when it first appeared, and the tone was mostly quite negative. Haven't things changed? Now there's a few on the road, there's a lot more positive comment on speed, handling, build, even changes of mind about the styling! A lot more of, "I want one!"

i agree with nubbin (it was you at the factory when i went up with Flasher was it not ??)

as i said at the time it is a suprise when you see one as the photos did not do it justice, in addition the production cars are much better finished than the early pre-production ones!

I'll add me name to the list of turncoats. The first pictures I saw, added to the loss of a big rumbly V8 left me feeling that PW had just made his first big mistake since taking charge of TVR. Since then, after reading so much positive comment on here and in the motoring press, and seeing more pictures (especially with those 18" wheels ) I've changed my mind. Someone on here has a black one (sorry - can't remember who) and that is just .

Its Shoggoth (sp?) who has the black one and all I can say about it is that it looks like the car that Satan would commute in.

I have to admit my opinion changed with the introduction of the 18" wheels. On 16's I do think that it looks a little podgy (for want of a better word) but on the 18's its LOVELY!

Having seen a Tamora in the flesh at Silverstone, I think it's potentially PW's greatest commercial triumph at TVR. I will be amazed if it doesn't outsell its peers (Cerb, Tuscan) very quickly.

It looks great, although I have yet to drive it or even hear it. I have sworn myself off TVRs since my last one... but the Tamora.. hmmm.....

I almost bought the number plate S666 EVL, but decided this might look a bit 'knobby'.

I haven't seen one yet, other than your guy’s pics, I am eagerly waiting to meet up with Nubbins for the Chatsworth meet to have a good look round.

CleG - you should get to see quite a few at Chatsworth, and when we meet up at J31, there'll be a GTS blue Tamora as well...

Do you think that the exact same thing might end up happening with the Tuscan R? That seems to be getting a royal slating for its looks right now (which I don't think it deserves).

Yeah,

The guys on the TVR General thread are giving the Tuscan R a right old kicking.....and the Tamora for that matter(b*st*rds :-)).
I think the new Tuscan R and the Tamora are the way forward, they look like 21st century cars!!! AND they GO like 21st century rockets

Agreed, but there's going to be a lot less Tuscan Rs on the road than there are Tamoras. Even to us Tamora drivers the Tuscan will be unaffordable to two lifetimes!
Cheers....... Andrew

And let's be honest, the Tamora looks nice, the Tuscan R is like a normal Tuscan only nasty and faster.

Now as far as I can tell the one area TVR didn't need to work on was making it faster.

Refinement, fit, finish, heating and ventilation, all yes, but faster, no.

But that's not what everyone said when they first saw it. It was slated worse than the Tuscan R is right now. Wait a year or so, and I bet you'll be saying you love it.

I know what you mean, but I never said I didn't like the Tamora, and I'm damn sure I won't be saying I like the R.

On the other hand, in the flesh it probably looks agressive and the wife did say she liked it......

I'll get me coat....

Right flame proof suit on, fisrtly I must say it has grown on me a bit I have driven a couple and was pleasently supprised, in the end I went for one of the very last chimaera 500's (had one for the last 3 years before that a 4.0L)not sure I have made the right descision started looking at 348's/355's and I am not sure about those either maybee I am just indescisive!

Anyway my point is I really really want it to grow on me but it just isn't happening at all I unfortunatly still can't get past the fact it looks like a souped up MX5 (only my opinion)

I am really really trying to like it honest but it just dosen't seem special enough. The drive is probably the best ever TVR that I have ever driven but I just can't stand the look's

Sorry (I wished I liked it purely because its a TVR)

That's fair enough mate, we are all different. I have never liked the Chimaera so I know where you are coming from. Barring the Tuscan (which I do like) it's the only TVR I haven't owned and it's the only one I don't like.

My point is that we are spoiled for choice a bit here. I would still rather have a Chimaeara than a Lotus, Porsche etc etc.

I agree about Ferrari's though and when I went with bennno to get his 456gt I had a long look round the showroom and must admit that the beauty and build quality is on another planet... shame that it's so costly to run one...

Now what I want is 355 looks with Tamora go and Chimaera noise and running costs not much really

You are right though we are all very spoilt, I also would have a Tamora over anything probably bar the Chimaera,Tuscan S and Ferrari.
Maybee it will grow on me in time

Best I audition for the scrap heap challenge then !!!!!
