received an email yesterday from the insurers offering me a further settlement on the vehicle
I think this in its self is pretty telling! If that's not an admission of a cock up I dont know what is! Good luck with it.
Yep. I trust the 'further settlement' is around the £60k area to replace your car with the minimum of problems... biggrin

Thanks for the update D1ckie , I bet the insurance company is shi***** bricks over this ,funny how it all played into the salvage company hands far too easy! From a sag that was not allowed to go back on the road to one that is that's some price difference in resale value

The advert seems to have gone! Good or bad thing?
Advert is still on evilBay..
Where did they get the picture of the car pre accident ? ...also the quote "visit us for a test drive "might be a bit optimistic.

hi all. has anybody thought of something between the engineer and the salvage yard that may have a connections. lets just say i make a car catB and pass it to the salvage yard and makes it catC i then receive bung payment. dos that sound logic to anybody, and if so he may have a history, not only in tvr models but, in all the models.

So a bit of an update....

I've received a further payout from the insurance company, however this apprears to be because they originally said my settlement was based on my agreed insurance value, then in subsequent correspondence they said I didnt have a guranteed value. So when I asked if my claim was paid on market value they said yes, so then claimed that there market value was not where the market value is!!!! Bingo, another payment.

However the issue of the change in classification has not changed and if I want to pursue I have to claim to Lloyds, the insurance HQ!!! Havent decided if I will go that way yet as been away a lot recently but will review when I get home next week. But pursuing aint going to get my car back and I certainly wouldnt want it back now after being with the salvage yard for months.... not sure how many parts would have been removed / lost since they received it

Not much more to advise, they feel they didnt have to advise me of the change in classification, i feel differently.

Car seems to have now disappeared from classifieds so not sure if has been sold or not.

Insurance company confirmed that the car was sold as a Cat B and they were paid as Cat B, I think the issue is more to do with the insurance assessor maybe being friendly with the breakers.... but not sure. As I stated they have never actually seen the car until after it was collected from me and delivered to the salvage yard and I'd been paid out.

In my opinion it's the insurance company who should have an issue with their assessor:-

Firstly he assesses a car to be Cat B valued at £5k then changes his mind and says it Cat C at £8k
Secondly as a Cat C car with no work being done on it , it goes up for sale at £22.5k giving a nice profit for someone with little effort.

I think the assessor has a few questions to answer.

I also think the HMRC should take a look at Mr Assessors possessions/holidays/lifestyle/etc. to see whether his after tax income supports his expenditure.
Aside from that D1ckie, how does the MP4 rate against the Sag?

Hi, it's a completely different animal, simple and easy at 30 then an absolute monster if you want it to be..... goes round corners better than the Sag
In terms of attention I'd say its 50/50
Still looking for another, just waiting for the right car!!!
