^^ What was the overall essence of the email? Have they now put a deposit down with TVRDean?

I would think that you might be best deciding what you want the outcome to be. Would you want your car back as a catC and repair/keep it yourself, or do you want the difference in value between a catB/catC?

If it were me personally, i'd push for the first one, as it's the only route that there's no alternative for the insurers. If/once if gets to a stage that it's clear that they can't facilitate this as they don't own the car anymore, then push for an alternative settlement?

They're offering to buy (or asking how much I want) to buy the service books and all history from the car.

If I'd been offered the car as Cat C I would have taken it as I know who and where I wanted it to be repaired. As soon as I hear from the insurance company I will update, but I think this will have to go legal as I cant see them wanting to sell the car back to me now!!!

Hi all, first time I've posted on here, but feel I have to comment on this matter, as I have had first hand experience of TVRDean.

I am obviously limited to what I can say but it wasn't the best experience in my life,I was basically sold a car with "All THE PARTS TO REPAIR" and ended up with a car and a pile of JUNK! but thats all I want to say on that.

I suspect the person who is pertaining to be the new owner may infact be TVRDean as they obviously like to buy or cajole history of vehicles from ex owners to assist in their sales. I really don't like to see people taken advantage of and would advise you that the history of your vehicle is worth thousands to someone, I'm sure you are aware of this and obviously I advise you not to sell, unless it perhaps comes somewhere close to compensating you for your losses.

I do know an independent insurance assessor and will ask his advice if you need more input.

Good luck and don't give up till you have got what you want!

I think you have a case for fraud against the insurance co don't you ?? Check small print of policy, as I said earlier if they deemed Cat C repairable you have the right to have it repaired up to 90/95% of its value. Cat b you don't. And it ends up cat c ?? You have been defrauded IMHO.

If you want your car returned it`s essential to raise the profile of the case outside of this forum.
Start by informing any interested parties that you intend to pursue a case with the intention of preventing the car being moved.
Contact the British Vehicle Salvage Federation,a very helpful body, mail or call the CEO of your insurance company and if you have a Facebook account get the facts out there, this one action,if it snowballs, is guaranteed to bring your grievance to the attention of the directorship.
Good luck.

might be worth gettin a lawyer to put a "holding letter" together for your insurers, copied to the current holder of the title, such that it is clear you believe there is an issue.

Best bit of advice so far.

You need to officially record your concerns asap. Good luck BTW.

Funny how some people can not read or think they have read some thing thats not there , the ad says the car has been well serviced, it makes no mention of being sold with service history !
