All done, I think it looks upto date and clean. But the flasher unit I got sent didn't work so need to sort that out next week.

Looks good!

Did you use Sikaflex to fix the lights in place?

Hi Poppet...?!

I like the end result. Can I ask, was this an easy 'plug and play' job or did it involve work that could be buggered up by an idiot like I?

Could you list the items used and perhaps even where to get them?

Thanks.

If I could do it, I am sure you can! hehe

All the info and links are in this very thread for parts.

Cheers Chris,

I got a bit confused as a couple of different suppliers are mentioned, but will just read a bit more when I get chance. You mentioned (at least I think it was you) that if you were to do it again you would buy spade connectors to make life easier, are you able to elaborate on size or any other details?

Before you think I really am an idiot, I am yet to collect my new Tamora and so can't pop out and take a look.

Cheers.

The spade connectors are standard, not too big (not sure of the size, but they look like any common or garden connector)

I bought all the LED lights from here (including the resistors):

http://www.s-v-c.co.uk/category/led/

The connectors and wire strippers from Amazon (probably could have got them cheaper from EBay - but they were cheap anyway)

I used Sikaflex 221 to fix all lights.

Got any pics of your new Tam?

blue spades/bullets will do the job, just make sure you put the females on the +ve wires on the loom side of the car. When you seal the lights back in a good idea is to shine a torch from the back and look at the front to see if you can see the light! The top 2 lights don't need to be perfect as they drain out through the body (those little holes in the clam by the lower lights) its the lower light cluster that piss water into the boot if they are not sealed properly. Also don't forget that LED's will only power up when connected in one direction.

Thanks Chris and Shep, looking forward to tinkering when I finally get my hands on this beauty (photo borrowed from a previous post on the car)...

Very nice, so you bought the T350 front end Tamora, with the superbly re-trimmed interior. A lot of money has been lavished on that car!

OK, well this thread has renewed my interest in these so am considering going for the LEDs. I've read all of the thread and think this is what I need for the rear :

1 x fog (red or clear)
1 x reverse light (clear)
2 x indicators (clear or orange)
4 x stop and tail (clear or red) - connect top ones as stop and tail, bottom just as tail

The indicators and stop lights are showing as a pair for £46 so is that a price for two, as the fog light is £46 each?
http://www.s-v-c.co.uk/product/ultrabright-inner-l...

I either need to connect resistors in line with the indicators, or go for a CF14 relay which seems preferable to me. Has anyone who has fitted the relay had any problems?

I will also need for the front:

2 x indicators (clear or orange)
Has anyone with a mk1 Tam done anything with the front foglights, or just leave them as they are?

Plus some Silkaflex to seal.

Is that about it?

I think I prefer red stop lights and clear indicators/fog/reverse, but it's just personal preference at the end of the day.

I've put good quality LED bulbs in all of mine, keeping the original lenses. You get the added brightness and a really nice uniformity to the light but it cost me £20 all in. I agree, these all look really lovely but I am pleased with my upgrade at a fraction of the cost.

Don't forget the relay to correct the flash rate of the indicators. Tail & indicators are priced per pair. Fog & reverse light are priced individually. I put white LED bulbs in my fog lights to keep the white look of the side/dip beam HID lights

I added extra tail lights at the top as well with a little wiring, looks really good with 4 tails now, I was going to move the indicators to the bottom and have all 4 tails at the top but decided I couldn't be doing with the extra wiring at the moment wink

The stop tail lights do come as a pair which is good but still not sure why the others are twice as much, must just be more expensive LEDs as there is only one in reverse/fog.

I bought the expensive relay from SVC ( mainly as I wanted it all by the weekend). However when I fitted it the relay didn't work so I now need to contact them and get a refund as I will try one of eBay for a fraction of the cost. There relay was a three pin one but also had a earth wire coming out of it which was weird but just could not get it to work.

There are two configurations of relay. You need to make sure you have the right one. CF14 is the correct configuration for the TVR but I can't check until tomorrow night.

Thanks Shep

I did mention the relay in my rambling post smile, but from earlier in the thread I thought it was CF14, and you have mentioned CF13 so would be good if you can confirm.

This ebay link was suggested earlier in the thread:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/261111166687?ssPageName=...

Seems weird that they are priced per pair, but the fog and reverse are the same price for a single unit.

I might wait a few months before I take this on, but like to do my research and get everything I need ready smile

The fog and reverse lights are slightly different - they even have quite a large heat sink fitted to them which the indicator and brake lights do not have. I think this is why there's a price disparity. I think it cost me just under £350 to do the whole lot.

Had a look when I got home, I was wrong it is CF14 you need NOT CF13
