£76000 Sagaris

The Original thread.
But basically it looks like the S6 likes to breathe. A lot. God knows what would happen with VCT and a capacity increase.

So in reality its probably fair to say that the engine is probably at least £20,000 if purchased as a complete unit.
No - mine was £15k inc VAT with all the ACT stuff included in that figure. I think. I'd happily break down the full bill privately if that helps?scorcher said:
looks like they've had enough offers on it to justify raising the price to £95990!
Hmm... yes, ok...Each to their own...
If they think they can sell it at that price, then good luck to them.
They are supposed to have a new sales manager there who is looking to rebuild their rep. (or so I hear on the grapevine).
Maybe this is part of that new strategy.
Or maybe that price is fair enough for a "new" car of the Sagaris rank with new engine. It could be argued it was a fair price
for today's market.

Depends what they finish it with.
Who knows, it may have TC, ABS, great build quality, galvanized chassis, decent gearbox, good electrics,
high quality interior leather...
Yea right... Who knows, it may have TC, ABS, great build quality, galvanized chassis, decent gearbox, good electrics,
high quality interior leather...
£100k is a joke for what will effectively be a kit car that will never have the provenance of being a Blackpool 'built' car. Which regardless of build quality etc WILL matter in the future.

I'm afraid I have to agree. I think someone has been smoking something somewhere sometime...£100k is a joke for what will effectively be a kit car that will never have the provenance of being a Blackpool 'built' car. Which regardless of build quality etc WILL matter in the future.
But for the sake of being PC, I won't say that

Not a chance they're going to get nearly £100k for it. They'll need to find someone who doesn't care if it's worth 50k within a few months anyway.
Threads like this are doing a fair amount of marketing for the seller, and there will be someone somewhere with more money than sense and a new pair of rose tinted glasses. I do agree with BJG1, it could easily go down in history as the only 'Sag' to suffer such a previously unseen level of depreciation lol

Very few unfinished cars were customer cars (a few exceptions reported by PH'ers like Funky and Micky, and one of those became the Sag II)
This car is my old car which got stranded in the factory in 2006. It was indeed one of the last Sagaris. There was huge sentimental value for me to this Sagaris because of everything i went through to try and locate it and also as my late father has signed the body.I tried to buy it on numerous occasions from Racing Green but for some unknown reason they overlooked me both times when their previous 'buyers' pulled out, even though i was apparently first on the reserve list. I wouldn't even waste my time trying again. It was all very disappointing especially considering they knew i was a serious customer as i had previously had my Sagaris serviced there.
That really sucks Funky
I just don't get it with this one. As has been said above, it's going to be a glorified kit-car, it might be twice as good as my Sag, I don't know, but I do know in 10 years time it won't matter - mine's a car built in Blackpool by TVR and that isn't, I'd bet good money mine'll be worth more then. Whatever you're paying extra for this you're paying because it's new and in 2 years time it won't be, then I struggle to see how it won't just be worth the same or less than others
