Fitting light covers
Discussion
I was told by S&D that the way to do it is to run electrical tape on the inside following the external contour giving a band of approx 20mm.
Once that's done follow the contour of the electrical tape with masking tape once you've done that remove the electrical tape and paint.
The paint I used was from race tech. Code RD002 Lens primer, Black, 20ml £24.95 + vat and delivery

Sika 209 primer black on bare covers. If you refit the old ones you can touch up any scratches using a paint suitable for PMMA (i.e. Plexiglas). Dont use paint for PC polycarbonate(i.e. makrolon vor lexan) as that won't stick.
Refitting requires cutting back the old sikaflex 221 on thr cover and use it as a base for a bead of fresh sikaflex.

I need to refix my light covers - headlights and rear lights on a T350. I understand that the headlight covers need to be painted around the outside before being fixed, is there a template for doing this, is it a special paint?
Hi Tony - Ian is going to do mine when the car is next in - so give him a shout.Gassing Station | Tamora, T350 & Sagaris | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
