Yes they are working on a solution.

Hopefully it wont be too long now.

Just spoke with factory again and finally got them to confirm this. Realistically its probably a few weeks away yet, but at least we have confirmation. The fix is basically a shrouding which sits above the belt feeder and holds the roof away from the mechanism.

Thanks Mark. Did they give an indication of a recall or is it just us lucky ones that know about it will ask our dealer for it to be fitted?
Cheers.... Andrew (ex gb61390)

I asked and voiced an opinion that they should but they were not sure at this stage.

Yes - Thanks for your help.

Lance,

If you are reading, are you still going to Goodwood on Sunday ? I'm going in my 355 rather than Tamora as taking a colleague, but would love to meet up with you and see some of your boot mods etc.

Coo, I'm looking forward to the seat belt fix - how they're going to fix the hot cabin problem I can't imagine, since it's the proximity of a large, hot engine and gearbox that transmits the heat to the cabin. Still, if there's a fix, I'll have it - after all, we're the one's doing the shakedown testing!!

Claire,

I've been reading this thread with much interest - although I am not lucky enough to drive a Tamora. From what I have gathered, I understand you do not work for the factory. Is this true? If this is, well you'd deserve far more than a pat on the back for all your efforts.

When you go to a PH gathering make you shouldn't have to pay for a single drink and should be able to request a ride in any TVR.

Thank you / Congrats / Good on you / Three cheers / Respek! / etc...

No I don't work for the factory. On the other hand my parents do.

Mum is Warranty Manager and Dad is now Production Manager.

Thanks for the compliment. Although I reckon the respek should go to Dad cos he is .

I also added a footnote to that list saying if number 3 wasnt sorted with immediate effect i would consider returning the car as being unsafe to use on a public road. and I meant it!
would be a huge shame but i've got a family....

Lance:

Many thanks for the email - looks like number 3 will be sorted soon. I had a very quick response from the factory to a fax I sent regarding my concerns about Tamora reliability, much quicker than I was expecting. I hope the factory addresses the 32 issues with equal enthusiasm!

I have had 7 Tvrs my current 1 is a RR Tuscan and the last 2 I bought from the factory which is only a few miles from where I live. I thought I would just say hello to Clare....I have known your dad for many years he is a smashing fella even though he has swapped his TVR in for a Nissan 4x4!!!

Could someone say what the seat belt problem is please.

I was reading this with some interest- not got a Tamora, but a Chimaera. What is this No3 problem with the seat belt. Is it something like the back of the hood when down contacts with the seat belt and stops it from working?

Got this problem with the Chimaera. If there is a bit of plastic covering as a mod to the Tamora for this problem I would be interested in it for my car.

Basically, yes. It's lethal because you can introduce slack into the belt whilst driving WITHOUT REALISING IT. You're then basically driving unrestrained with the obvious danger. I have a friend with a Chim that does suffer to some extent but the Tamora roof (which folds much lower) is far worse. I guess the new shrouds might fit yours - let me take a look when mine are fitted.
