I'm looking to connect up my laptop to the MBE ECU on my 2004 T350. I'm assuming the following connector is the correct one:

I also found this 3 pin connector buried behind the dash ECU. I can't find any reference to it on the circuit diagrams. Does anyone know what it is for?
Thanks!

The first one looks like the correct one.

There is a useful thread over in the straight six engine forum.

Hopefuliy that's the correct one.

Thanks Nick. Do you have the software running yourself? Any snags to watch out for?

I've also found this which looks helpful:

I'm still curious about the other three pin connector. Does anyone knows what it is for?

Off the top of my head

Red - Sidelights/Illumination
Violet - Fused battery +ive
Black - Negative/Earth/Return

The above gets me thinking - "What circuit could possibly use those 3 wires?" - I have a few thoughts on circuits, perhaps a cigarette lighter or a footwell light

It's a while since I had it running but I don't recall any particular snags. I was using Vista at the time, not sure about other operating systems though.

Thanks for your comments Penelope.

I've re-checked the circuit diagrams and can't see any likely candidate. It must be one of those features TVR never got round to fitting. Firing the explosive bolts on the emergency door release?

Thanks MK, I still have an old laptop running XP, so hopefully it will run on that.

I wish I could be of more assistance.
The unknown wires scenario is not a TVR thing, most vehicles have unused wires, If all manufacturers tied or taped them up out of the way life would be easier at times
