I'm sick and fed up of the quarter-turn fasteners on the main bonnet of the Sagaris coming undone.

Has anyone found a like-for-like replacement? I don't really want to make any bodywork modifications - I just want something that locks in place rather than using friction.

(I'm taking about the circular clips at the trailing edge of the main bonnet, which use a security Torx fastener, and are locked and unlocked with a quarter turn)

That would be fine, but as far as i know, there is no replacement available. You can improve the connection with a Foam Ring between bonnet and Body (around the pin) and by machining a Groove into the bottomside of the metalpart.

Hmmm... yes, that's an idea. Solve the problem by increasing the effectiveness of the existing system. yes

Edit: One suggestion is to use one or more tap washers.

Surface and Design switched the bonnet clip (torx lock) to bonnet buttons. no body modification was required (it fit the same holes) and was very easy to do, took about an hour or so.

Personally i prefer the look as the mangled torx holes just degrade over time. Not to mention how easy they are to use now.

Currently it needs some minor adjustment (literally minor) as the drivers side pops up at 130+mph but its secured in at 3 other points so not an issue.

I will take some pictures when i get home tonight

FYI: the bonnet buttons themselves are very cheap online

I've fitted a couple of blocks of dense rubber the same shape as the indent in the bulkhead under the catch plate which puts upward pressure on the catch. Since fitting provided the lines on the top of the fittings are aligned I've not had a problem.
