Just had air con regassed after replacing all the O rings. When air con on the engine temp rises a good 4-5 degrees and battery voltage drops from an indicated 13.2 to 12.6v.

Is that normal?

Thanks

Hi, Can't report on voltage change but I do have a similar increase in temp and the engine idle speed reduces with the additional load when A/C is switched on.

Thanks for the info. Will dismiss the temp change as normal then. Voltage probably the same scenario but thought I’d check.

The condenser of the air conditioning system is installed in the front, next to the engine radiator. The gaseous refrigerant heats up to temperatures of 60° - 100° Celsius due to the compression of the air conditioning compressor and is cooled at the condenser by ambient air flowing past. This is responsible for the temparature increase!

Thanks very much for the info. The temp seems to climb fairly quickly (1-2 mins) after air con on. Guess that gas heats quickly!
