Awesome, now get saving for a 4.3 and you’ll get rid of all the issues with low end grunt.

I can set off in third in mine and it’ll pull in that gear strongly up to 100+. 👍.

Enjoy enjoy , I moved from a 450chim to the Tam and will never look back. So much more modern car and way more driveable at high speeds.

It is a 4.3, with close ratio gearbox and Quaife LSD!

I miss it - replaced with a Skoda Yeti for now...

Woof, awesome.

Welcome to the 4.3 club then to the new owner ! I have certainly not wanted for any torque with the 4.3.

Have we any pics ?

Chris I can’t beleive you’ve let her go! New owner has got a bargain, that is one of the best Tams out there.

The debate re Chim vs Tam handling, well I am in a position to say that the Tam (introns) out handles the Chimaera (Racing Reds) however imo the Chimaera is a better long distance cruiser and the Tam is more ‘on it’ more of the time. Analogue vs Digital is a good way of describing the difference. Love the sound of both engines which is why I’ve found it hard to let one go!

Love them both!

This is why I’m not in a rush to put Nitrons on, mine cruises beautifully on long journeys - not something I want to mess with.

Handling between the two is totally incomparable in my opinion. Tam (after a gel setup) is totally on rails. The Chimaera was, erm, not. 😆.

Enjoy the new car Chris, maybe we can get a 4.3 get together on the cards. Get us some pics sorted out !

No, I am the idiot who sold it, my Tamora is now replaced with a Skoda Yeti for now! I needed capitol to start a new business venture, I figured if all goes well, I will eventually get another one - but for now, everything is directed at my business for the future.

Very hard to see her go, even more so when I see the empty space in the garage...

As Rib and Phazed implied, anyone who thinks their Chim/Griff is trying to kill them is either stupid with their right foot (unlikely, as we are all driving gods), or the car is in urgent need of a suspension check and four wheel alignment. Everyone who gets one done by a competent TVR specialist finds the car transformed.

Can we start a new thread; "Is a Skoda Yeti better than a Tamora? (Or Chimera?)

I am glad you asked that question wink

I have both, (well an old remapped Skoda Octávia vRS).

My chim is much faster, huge fun to drive but feels happiest on completely empty roads or the track. It really only comes into its own going fast.

The Skoda is better at everything else.

The chim has cost a fortune to get it where it is and devours fuel at an alarming rate.

The Skoda cost £900, has faultless reliability and never delivers less than 30 mpg even when being thrashed.

The chim will go eventually one day, probably to be replaced with a cerb with an LS engine.

I feel I will never sell the Skoda.

Is that what you are after? laugh

hehe

I thought I'd hate the Skoda, but I love it! I am shocked I feel that way. Intended to get a small van, to carry the stuff I design, but this car has the exact same space as a van when the rear seats are removed!

Doesn't stop me missing the Tam though - AFAIAC, ALL TVR's are great, was never less than happy in my Chim or two Tamora's. I am stone cold sure the same could be said about the Griff.
