I'm not entirely sure, the car has the associated invoice in the file at around 3k miles. My hunch is that the car perhaps came supplied with the (inferior) Tuscan seats from new and these were installed afterwards, though I couldn't say for sure. The quilted stitching is also present below the removable cushion which is a nice touch.
Yes that's what HHC told me when it was there iirc it was John Simpson who did it, he may be along to confirm it.
To be honest when the car was in the showroom it looked a meh colour but when it's outside it looks fantastic thumbup
Not guilty. ‘‘Twas the owner after me that swapped them. Car had leather black Tuscan seats (carbon effect) originally but tall drivers and Sags with Tuscan seats do not go well together.

No other reason they were changed.

BTW Owner after me was 6-5 ish...

Sorry Cammy if I under sold you smile

Thanks John. I don't like the Tuscan seats anyway, I find them terribly unsupportive and secondly, I think using them for the later T350s/Sags was purely cost cutting. That said, if some Tuscan seats come up I'll snatch them up and get them re-trimmed back to original, so the car at least has them.

Ok, a proper job then

All seems to have been revealed as above

Thanks for the well wishes all. I've had the car around a month now, it's done perhaps 150 miles or so. The car is getting to the point now where I feel she is best preserved and cherished as a low mileage, standard car. In the last couple of years I've done European road trips in my T350T and Tuscan respectively, if truth be told I don't think that the Sag will ever be used for such a thing. It's giving me as much enjoyment as the other cars did just by looking at it, cleaning it and being its custodian. Ideally I'd like to drive it more and not feel as guilty, but this is always the danger of buying such a low mileage car. Certainly had I bought a 25000 mile car, I'd be driving it a lot more.
That’s a shame. You sold 2 TVRs to buy this one and won’t get to drive it much. Personally I’ve never got keeping cars low mileage unless you are worried about re-sale value. My Tuscan has 70,000 on the clock (55,000 in my ownership) and is in A1 condition, albeit spending a small fortune getting it that way. I cherish every drive in it.

If I owned this car I would only ever use it on a racetrack

I am worried about resale to an extent as I spent every spare penny I have earned on this car; it's hard earned. Secondly, the cars are becoming rarer by the day and there is a degree of responsibility in keeping it as good as it is. smile

Robsco smashing car well done and I fully understand your delight at achieving your dream and just looking at it and cleaning it.

However, in my opinion of course it would be an absolute tradgedy for you not to use the car as you want simply because you worry now about the time you come to sell it and also a tradgedy for the car not to be used and for everyone else who loves to see a TVR on the road. (Quite a rare sight now sadly)

a few stonechips and a few thousand miles a year won't hurt the value and become part of a cars history, they are unavoidable if you're going to enjoy driving it and surely guilt is not what this car is about?

Enjoy behind the wheel as well you're a long time deadthumbup

Sometimes we spend so much time worrying about the future we forget to live today. The value of this Sagaris will be much the same whether it has 6000 miles or 16000 miles so go enjoy it today. This advice was given by the Dalai Lama when he bought his Sagaris.

I get how you feel. I bought a Sag 3 years ago that had only done 11,000 miles. All original.

I parked it on the drive, looked at it in awe and enjoyed many a beer just staring at its curves. It was and still is my dream car and like you I spent my hard earned dosh on it.

After a few months I thought Fxxk it I need to use this masterpiece. Took it to Le Mans Classic last year and completed a road trip to Inveraray/Skye/Applecross/Cairngorms in June. Each to their own of course but that car has given me so much joy just using it. They will of course lose some value being driven but a couple of grand here or there is so worth the memories..

I wish you many happy times with your beast, she looks gorgeous.

A racetrack is hard on a car. I think it prematurely ages a car. All the bits I've done to my TVR have been prompted after a trackday for this reason.

I think the car is better for it, but the bills will start to mount if he tracks it.

My first Sagaris was a track car - 13000 miles worth. Loved it - sold as I went racing and had even more fun.

My second Sag an every day car - sold as it wasn't up to the job (IMO)

This was my third, bought at 1100 miles for £250 more than its price when new and determined to use it... but never did - too many other toys and at the back of mind I always wanted to keep it like new. Not sad to see it move to another owner when I sold it, but I think the mileage is so low now, that it will never cover many miles in the hands of any of its future owners for same reason.

Peolple buy all kinds of things for reasons they understand best. If they can use them as they want, surely thats only a good thing? smile

I wouldn't trust any other cars on the road, I know the insurance will give cash back if the car was wrecked but the new owner has done his cash to have the car

There's plenty of idiots doing trackdays ........

but it could always be totally covered in bubble wrap, cut out the windows and apply some bullet repelling film just in case of stones and for complete peace of mind hang some old tyres on the sides and corners, then only go on track while everyone else is having lunch and organise an army of beaters to make sure no wildlife strays into your path.

All you have to worry about now is getting it to and from the track and the only answer I can think of here is to wait for a zombie apocalypse when no one is driving rolleyeswink

I'd like to tell you all... I drove the car 15 miles last night. I loved every second, but boy the car is so damned nice, the thought of a stone chip gives me palpitations! laugh

If the market tanks and you loose 20k-30k how are you going to feel about not driving it then. Or if it has an electrical fault and sets fire sleeping the garage?

Get it insured on an agreed value higher than its worth, and take it out when you want too. Conserve the mileage you haven't got to go crazy but enjoy it if its your dream. You never know what's around the corner.

It can all be repaired, brought back to new. Its in the low mileage category imho it doesnt matter if it has 200 or 12000 miles its still a low mile one. Take it a few shows.

Rob: amazing and beautiful car the Sag

Quick question: how do you compare the Sagaris with the T350 or even the Cerbera 4.5?

Congrats on the new machine!

Well, it's been shortlived... but I've made the decision to let the car go. I haven't gotten around to advertising yet, but I feel it's time to move on and try a 355, which is something I've been looking at for a while but never followed through with. I'm sure I'll be back to TVR in the future!

You should look out for a „non low mileage“ car! biggrin
