RE: Tamora Coupe Confirmed!
Discussion

Ted, check with TVR regarding this new car being a "replacement" for the existing Tuscan race series, as Baldrick has just confirmed that TVR have NO intention of using the car to replace tuscans. I belive that this car would be far more likely to be seen in the new GT cup class.
I didn't expect Tuscans to be replaced but the press release talked of a one make series.
"I'm sure Peter Wheeler would not allow a car that so blatantly ripped off the looks of a Porsche 911! (OK, I know it's only a mockup)."
No your right, and probably having seen a 996/911 whatever..
.. he would have no problem with this concept.
Is this picture the reason you were up 'til half five last night Ted?
To me it looks just like the Tuscan Rin that it looks as if someone dropped a cr-x (groan..I know!) on it from a moderate height.
Mouse.

Ted, Motorsport News,2nd Oct, page 9. "TVR launch new racer", sub heading, British GT. " Tvr will launch a new cut price GT racer at the International Motor Show" etc, etc. A spokesman for TVR, stated, "It would be a perfect little car for the proposed GT Cup class" This appears to be the real reason behind the car, but road versions will be available from dealers circa £37k

Gaah! Does this mean a more powerful Tamora, with race car-led suspension tweaks - like a roll bar and stiffer springs at the back? NOOOOOOOOOOOOO............!!!
These are the details from this month's edition of Sprint magazine.
It will be launched @ 1.50PM on the 22nd October, its based on the Tamora and has been styled to suit its use as a GT and one-make racing car.
It has a front splitter and a rear diffuser to create downforce over both axles, and shares its mechanicals and interior with the Tamora. Priced at £37,000 with standard 18" wheels although the price may rise as orders come in a targa version is available but at a slightly higher price.
Finally the same 350bhp 3.6ltr Speed Six engine is used, because of better drag coefficient the top speed will be higher.

quote:Oi don't tar us all with the same brush, I already said the fastest thing at Bedford (other than the Tuscan race cars) was Neil Anderson in a factory Tamora, no problem with (black) Tuscans but wow that Tamora did shift! Rich...

If only it could go round corners and didn't become skittish under braking....Enuff said, sorry if that upsets any hardcore TVR groupies... )
Sounds like a Griff owner talking!! ...nubbin
