Ahhh... right. Sorry. I seem to recall watching a comparative test on YouTube and there were three Michelin tyres in the test and the 4S was only the middle one. Maybe the most extreme was still the SS? It rings a bell.

I finally got round to doing this, and am having Goodyear Eagle F1 SuperSports fitted next week.
There's a promo running at present and I got 15% off, bringing them in at £144.49 a corner including mobile fitting.
The new Eagle F1 Asymmetric 6 was around the same price but I felt the SuperSports were more of a known quantity.

Trying to source Eagle F1 Asymmetric 6 in 225/35 R18 and the only tyres i can find are W speed as opposed to Y which are available as 225/40 R18
Questions is what have others fitted should I go for the deeper profile risking tyre scrub but with the higher speed rating or stick with 35's and accept that I probably wont be driving as fast as168mph ! even on a track.
or is their another tyre i should go to, currently on Toyo Proxes but whilst still in good condition they are well past their use by date and there are now much better tyres out there

Not really considered the Uniroyal but looking at some of the tyre yest reviews don't seem to out perform the Toyo Proxes I have always had Toyo's on the car and usually change two at a time and OCD prevents me mixing brands but as i need to replace all 4 looking at upgrading to a more modern design. They seem good value too.
Maybe too late to the thread but I have GY assymetric 6 all round now and amazed at the step change from 4s. Quieter and more compliant with loads of grip, although not tested in the wet yet I'm sure if they're like the older ones they'll be great. 225/40/18 front but there's more room on a Tuscan than Tamora. Highly recommended and speed rating W is a sustained speed over 168 so I'm sure you'd be absolutely fine.

I need a full set of four for 18 inch spiders for my Tamora. Currently I have 35 profile on the front and 40 on the rear. I would love to change those to 40 and 45 to better cope with the appalling state of the roads. I suspect the rears are a non starter but can I get away with 40s on the front? Is there a particular tyre whose shape squeezes under the arches with a bit more room?

Be aware that some insurers insist on OEM tyre sizes. Always check before changing and always declare.I bit the bullet and bought Michelins from Camskill.
Thought they have £60 cashback so that helps.
With fitting it came in around £165 a corner, less if i actually get the cashback.
Although annoyingly their site won't let me claim as it has issues finding my tyre sizes and trying to contact anyone is hopeless.
