T350 heater matrix

Has anyone had problems with the heater matrix leaking? I've got a very weird coolant leak that I can't track down. The matting behind the heat shielding by the exhaust manifold is damp, so I'm guessing it has come from within the cabin heater chamber. I don't want to cut that area open unless I really need to.
