I thought as much

I am convinced that this is even less likely to attract extra genuine interest come resale than full hide - but I'll grab my flame-proof undies as no doubt some will disagree.

All depends I think. It doesnt do you any favours going too garish, but an interesting classy reflex will I think make a car stand out over others for similar money.

But then saying that it is a lot of money extra just for paint. May reconsider but I have fancied a reflex TVR next for quite some time.

Well I had a long, long chat with my dealer (TMS) and Jonathon said that air-con is an absolute must for re-sale value. Remember that trying to sell a Cerbera without air-con is almost impossible...
Leather is nice but he said it has no effect on re-sale value whatsoever and is money you will never get back. The same goes for Chameleon paint really. Yes, it makes the car easier to sell and more desirable, but you will never see any of the £3000 plus it costs to put on the car. I'm going for a metallic silver with black bison and grey Lamonta trim I think. I would love the leather but at £2300 it's a big amount of money to wave goodbye to....

At least the 18" alloys are standard now.

Thing is that when spending 40k on a car I would spec' it for me not the next guy.

I understand what you mean, but I think it is sometimes a little "Max Power". I think also, it can be construed as laziness, i.e. not being bothered to find a decent single colour that works well on the shape of the car.

You're right, it is a lot of money for a pimp's paint job. :Puts on Nomex flak jacket:

I've got to respect that. A man who is prepared to stand up for what he believes (and set fire to his cash along the way ).

I do see where you are coming from, thats why I have a list of 5 exterior and interiors that I need to choose one of when I get a build slot! Two of them are reflex...

Don't listen to me Matt. RichB is right. Do what is best for you. As long as you go into it with your eyes open, then why the hell listen to a self-opinionated like me .

RichB is right. And I wouldn't swap my paint job on the Tamora for any other colour. The thing is when you are spending that much cash you do need to realise that wild paint schemes don't appeal to everyone and you are limiting your market for re-selling the car afterwards. I just didn't think the yellow would suit the coupe as well as it does the rag top. Plus I think silver looks ace on this car. Also I didn't have to pay the £3400 for the paint last time as I bought the dealer demo car....

Maybe I should get TMS to spec their demo the same as mine and then have that again..

The other thing is is that its a lot of money to spend on the basis of seeing a 9" x 5" bit of card with the colour on it. You cant see the full effect on such a small bit of paint and there is every likelyhood that a cascade colour will be horrific when seen over an entire car.

I'm so pleased for you guys with the means to purchase new cars from the Show. It must be a great day out there leaving you with a wide grin all the way home.

Well done all of you.

Flasher: how different is the spec of your one to your original order for your Tamora from TMS – wasn't that going to be the silver too?

Plotloss: have you actually signed on the line yet?

If you have, that's what having the car away at the menders does for you.

I placed my order last thursday and have to say that i agree with most of the opinions of spec here; Air con, (essential for resale of a car with non removable roof), full hide nice but non essential, colour light most probarbly.

I am thinking along the lines of getting mine in silver, interior dark and light grey, although pearl yellow, or blue (not so light) may also be likely. This is the hardest (although should be the best) bit about ordering a new tvr as being able to have any colour you want does cause a bit of a headache! I struggled with my cerb and went to the factory to see cars already in build before i could make a choice. We won't have this option with the t350c, unless of course you don't mind waiting until some cars have already been built.

Any suggestions with any more colours?

The silver car at the show is apparantly a "prism" paint (thats what my dealer called it) and costs about the same as reflex/chameleon. I have found what i think may be it at www.standox.co.uk/news/newsitem.asp?ItemID=45

Mikey

My original colour on the Tamora was Grigio Titanio. But I haven't made my mind up yet with this one. I'm going to go up to Blackpool late Jan when a few are on the production line and see what's available and what looks good....Open mind at the moment.

Might take the opportunity to go to the factory too (convoy to Blackpool anyone? ) - I am not quite so sure if my initial choice is right or not as nobody seems to know where I can see Venezian Blue on anything...
