attempted to put the roof into the boot for the first time and had to stop because the rubber seals were scrapping on the sides of the boot which made them unstick plus the paintwork was slighly scuffed inside the boot.. couldn't believe how little space is provided for storing the roof.. anyone know how to bypass this tricky operation without damaging anything else!

Hmmm... we all had to go through that learning curve...

The trick is to push the boot lid with your head so that you get that extra inch of clearance... I still scrape the carpet but short of cutting it out (like some people have done) i can't see another way...

Cheers,

Regarding the issue of wrestling the roof into the Tamora. I originally struggled with the same problem and also used the 'head' solution.

The way to fix it is to undo the boot end of the piston and add about 4mm worth of washers onto the thread (any more and the remaining thread becomes too short) and refit. The result is that boot opens a couple of inches further (almost vertical) and putting the roof in is easy-peasy. Strange but true.

These may help -

I also put my roof panel in a hood bag, to prevent the mohair being worn by the boot carpet as it's inserted/removed. I think it was about £50 from Leven.
