Ive done loads of Track days (100+) in 911s, (993 now 996 standard carrera) and quite honestly say that either most TVR drivers are shite( which I doubt) or the cars are just not that quick on circuits.
Plus the amount that end up dying a death after half a day is shocking.

I was half expecting a quote like that from a Porsche owner....

I've taken all of my TVR's on track and never had a problem before. My Tamora kicked the arse of every Porker on the track the day I took it round Donnington and I would bet the T350 will be even better.

The point of this thread was to let people know what has happened to my car and make my story public. Because I have always championed TVR in the past, it's only fair that I'm honest about the situation now.

Quite frankly I don't care how good your Porsche is, I don't want one, and I never will. They are good cars and yes they are better built than TVR's but to me they lack character and individuality and they are as about as exclusive as a pair of Levis.

If anything I will be looking at a Noble or Ferrari 355 next time, but I'm going to see what happens with this car first and give TVR the benefit of the doubt for now.....

Please don't turn this thread into a Porsche v TVR thing.....

Oh well, the best weekend (weather wise) of the year and I spend it minus a TVR. Thanks to the people (you know who you are) who took me out and turned the worst weekend of this year into the best one.

I'll let you all know what happens tomorrow and what the diagnosis is.

One thing I'm really pissed off about is that I had booked the Bruntingthorpe day next Saturday and was really looking forward to giving the beast it's first track outing now it's run in....

I'm going to be well hacked off if I have run it in again....

recent appology from Porsche 993 Turbo owner:

"Hi there,
and yes I owe you an apology for blocking you. I didn't realise how quick your car was - so all I can say is sorry !"

at least he was curteous enough to appologise.

I had a couple of 911's last year becuase i got fed up with the probs on my last cerb. which i copped a fair amount of criticsm for mentioning on PH.

Be, actually you got a whole load of grief for that and now that (fingers crossed) its turned around the other way it makes the original comments against you seem unfounded and unfair.... made me kinda think about it a little. I guess that you probably deserve an apology too.

Flasher, hope the car isnt too bad. You never know it might be fixed pretty soon. Still, dont loose the faith as your enthusiasm shines through in your comments. To be honest, I think that you probably wouldnt be happy in another car. Its just a shame that things have taken a turn for the worse at the moment.

Cheers,

Paul

mungo said: Flash, hopefully when you get your car back it will be fully sorted and trouble free from there on.

I still maintain that the T350C is the most beautiful TVR ever made and after being taken for a run in yours last weekend Flash, very very very impressed. Don't lose heart mate. It's a wonderful car and once it has a few thousand miles under it's belt, any troublesome area's will be identified and sorted.

In my opinion only two current cars match the T350 for it's pure beauty and those are the Noble M12 GTO and the new "Baby" Lambo.

Keep your chin up mate, in no time at all you will be back at the helm of one of the sexiest cars ever produced.

Cheers Matt, and it is hard to be angry when I love the car (and indeed the TVR marque itself) so much.

I just want it back.....

Sorry you are having teething problems Andy.

I know it won't make you feel much better, but we are having a pretty trouble free time of it in ours.

Chin up, you love it and in no time at all it will be all better.

Are you still on for Bruntingthorpe on Saturday??

Thanks for that, and despite everything yes, I do love the car. Glad you are not having problems, are you near the 1K service yet?

I had booked (and actually paid for)to take my T350c on the track at Bruntingthorpe so I don't know what is to happen, but I will come along if I have a TVR of some sort to drive.

Reject it now and back it up in writing.

They should give you a replacement, unless you are happy for them to put the car right.

At any rate any decent company should give you a replacement similar car whilst the matter is sorted.

I had similar problems with Land Rover some time back and drove a Rover 400 for about 3 months instead of a top of the range Discovery.

Hope you get it sorted without too much hassle and especially when the weather is right and you should be out there driving it!

Good luck mate

Flasher - apologies from all fair minded 911 owners out there - I admire your bravery for forking out 40k on a prototype!! (Joking, Joking..Ouch..)

If it's anything like the Tamora I drove over Christmas it must be phenomenal. Hope TVR sort it out for you.
