Hi all,i picked up my 350 on friday, have done 200 miles so far, this is my first tvr and so far im very impressed, the only gripe is that the vents that point to the screen only seem to blow out hot air even when the air con is on,is this right???
Ive had 3/4 fuel warnings and the bonnet rubs on the wiper arm,but i as i said over all its the dogs, mind you, you could get a complexs in this car as every other persons points, one fella was even videoing it today at southend on sea(how embarassing)

Mine's the same, I think that's how it is.
When you have the air con on and only have the blue light on the temperature gauge you only get air blowing out of the side and driver's vent which is cold. When you turn the temperature gauge up you can hear the fan's adjust and you get air coming out of the screen vent's but the air is warm.

On the Tamora, the windscreen and footwell vents do hot air only, and the vents facing the passenger and driver do cold air (+air conditioned) only. It sounds like its the same on the T350

I think there is a common fault with both Tamora's and T350 where and internal valve on the heating/cooling system fails to work. As far as I understand if you turn the aircon on and turn the fan up, the top vents should not blow hot air at the same rate. Mine did this, was fixed, bur now has started doing it again. It is true that the top vents only blow hot air but with the aircon on it should not be at the same rate ie current fan speed. Otherwise as has been stated its basically a waste of 2k. Probably just the usual TVR 10p components which fail every other week.

Right hope this all helps:

The footwell and screen only blow hot air
The face vents only blow cold air. Essentially the air mix occurs in the cabin not prior to it coming out the vents.

When you turn the temperature down to fully cold there should be NO air coming out of the hot vents and a powerful stream of cold out of the face vents. On full hot the reverse is true.

Although this sounds odd it does work very well and now I'm used to it it is fantastic, benefits include the sir hitting your screen doesn't cause it to mist up, you can be warm but still have a fresh breeze on your face etc.

All the vents are fully adjustable and can be closed. The only points to note are:

It hot air comes out of your hot vents when set full cold the mixer flap needs adjusting this can be done in the software screens, ask your dealer.

The Aircon is a must when the weather gets hot...trust me. I'm taking mine round Europe in a few weeks so I'm glad I've got it.

Hope that clears it up, it does seem odd but once understood it works very effectively.

deepdive,

Where abouts are you in Essex...Southend? I'm based in Southend and have a new Tuscan S...so would be cool to meet you and your T350 sometime.

Also, do you know about the Mid-Essex meet..as your new to TVR you might not know about us. We meet every 2nd Sunday at the Forresters golf club near Witham and normally have 60+ cars come along.

We are also going to Silverstone this weekend to support our local CDL Racing team (Sunday)...and have monthly activities.

Let me know if you want to know more or wish to compare motors

Alan.

Mine does the above, but only when you start the engine. Turn it to hot wait for the fan to engage, then turn it back to cold again problem gone. Awaiting dealer solution??
