I think we need to get several things into perspective here..

Firstly, no-one is doubting that as an overall performance car package any TVR is fantastic value for money and is a exclusive and a joy to drive....

However, nothing excuses the appallingly shoddy build quality issues that not only still exist but are consistently turned a blind eye to by the factory.

My T350C is fabulous, easily the best all round TVR I have owned and without doubt the best track car TVR have ever produced. However, some of the build quality issues I have are totally unnacceptable for a car costing £41,000. I'm not going to list them all here because via the dealer (TMS) they are gradually being sorted. I had a look at a new Boxster S the other day, It doesn't rattle my cage and never will, but I could help thinking that for the same money the build quality wasn't just better, it was astonishingly better.

TVR have to address this, we all want to talk about how great the cars are, not slag them off. But unless somebody says "Right, tell us what's wrong and we'll look into it" it's never going to improve, and that is what is so disappointing, no-one appears to be listening or indeed to care that lifelong TVR fans like me are seriously considering buying a Noble next time because it's been built so much better....

Much as it pains me to say this, flasher has expressed exactly my sentiments. Put simply, a £40,000 car should not have the faults TVR's have. That's it. I don't know what car I will have next, but my TVR directed goodwill is well into negative balance. Maybe a yacht or holiday home next time, and a small soft top of some sort.

Of course. I looked at a Noble last time but decided that at £7,000 more the Noble was over-priced. But I have had a good look at several now and can't find any of the build quality issues that still beset TVR's. I drove a Noble M12 last year and was very impressed, if they priced it to compete with TVR then TVR would find themsleves in a whole lot of trouble...

All their problems are solveable, but only if they listen to us. If I don't get my problems sorted and things don't improve drastically then I'll be heading down the Noble route, and that's a promise.

TVR have been rightly critcised in the past for QC issues and most of the recent problems are as generally commented unacceptable on a car in the £40k plus bracket, however even Ferrari's have problems as well, as do most low volume manufacturers (including Noble's, which from recent observation have paint, build and trim problems).

Love TVR's, happy to put things right (most of the time), especially when I can lunch Ferrari's for a third of the cost.

Good God, if Tivotic denizona of Flasheroonie's hugely loyal predisposition are saying this, then perhaps Monsiuer Samuelson should be interrupting Sir Peter's next grouse shoot, eh?
