Hi,
Has anyone had any rattling sounds coming from the engine when you accelerate hard. Also I get a similar sound just for a split second when I start the engine from hot.

check your oil. (make sure the engine is hot) and if it's still there then take it to the dealer....

Fish says:

The rattle at approx 6000rpm at full throttle, I believe is due to a heat shield and/or exhaust catching a chassis member etc, under full torque when hot.

My car still does this with proper oil levels as does the TMS demonstrator. It is being looked at next week...I will let you know, but
it is not the engine destroying itself

having been in Flashers car, his doesn't do it

Is 6000 rpm not a bit high for full torque?

Is it a sort of crackling type sound? Almost sounds like a couple of bolts in a washing machine at full spin, just for a second? If so mine does it. Dealer can't find anything wrong, doesnt seem to cause any problem

I’ve just got back from Peter Smith Sport Cars. Regarding the rattling sound when accelerating, Their mechanic has assured me that it is something to do with the exhaust system and the knocking sound when starting up from when the engine is hot is the start motor disengaging and is not a problem, So I have booked it in so they can take a look. I will keep you posted regarding what they find.
