Only had the car five days, and already got an issue! When I got out the car this morning, the alarm blipper wouldn't operate (no indicator flashing or door locking). I opened the door and turned ignition on and off to provoke it, and it then worked. Getting back to the car an hour later took a few presses to unlock the car (and so I left it unlocked at work - no danger there). Back home I tried to lock it with both current and spare blipper, and no response. I took both blippers apart, and the button thingies looked in good condition. Alarm unit is in place with wires snug, so that's OK. I then pulled out the no.29 fuse (alarm apparently) and when I replaced it the alarm blipped four times before wailing loudly! This time the remote blipper managed to switch it off straight away. My next plan is to get the wife to sit in the car so that I can test the blippers from outside without fear of being locked out forever! If it's still not working properly, what can you suggest??

hmmmm... this seems to be a self-help post!

OK, I'll update myself. This morning the boot and passenger door wouldn't open. banghead I'm wondering whether all these problems are a result of using the internal door-lock button, as it's all happened since my wife touched that a couple of days ago! So, I opened the passnger door from inside using the emergency handle, and tested that a few times from outside and it seems to open OK now. The boot has miraculously freed itself too! Still not going to attempt to lock the car until I take it to Barnet TVR on Saturday. I'll give myself a further update then! tumbleweed

i'd recommend Carl Baker, he is the top man when it comes to Tiv electrics and alarms. He is out in hampshire but it's a nice drive. He did wonders on my old Chim alarm.

My only advice would be that if you are planning to run the risk of locking the wife in the car make sure you hand her a little packed lunch biggrin

I hope someone on here can give some proper advice. Have you tried calling your garage, they have seen most issues and can give an answer normally straight away.

Ha Ha! Very useful advice! She'll be knocking on your door in the next few minutes, so I'd start running now if I were you! hehe

Just got back from TVR Centre, Barnet. The guys there sorted things as usual! Unplugged and reset the alarm, and thankfully everything working again. He reckoned the internal lock button might have started things off, but possibly previously water-damaged alarm unit hadn't help. Hopefully it'll be OK now... Bought a load of spares whilst I was there too, so that's gotta be a good thing!
