How do I open the key/remote unit? Is it just a case of prising it open with a screwdriver?

One of the units has stopped working; not sure it it just needs a battery or if a contact has become a bit knackered so want to have a look.

Hi there,
I prised mine open with a small blade, didnt do any damage whatsoever and replaced the battery (cr1220 3v). Assuming its an original tvr/meta key.

Lee, you want to give Karl Baker a call. When I was down there getting a stereo fitted he did both my keys, meaning that the switch on the original key is plastic and brakes loosing contact with the print circuit board. He replaced the plastic key switch with a rubber switch, which is much better and does'nt brake. This is a common problem with the original TVR keys.

Yeah, it's definitely a problem mwith the cheap construction of the unit. Battery is fine.

I wonder if we could get someone to make some nice aluminium or stainless steel ones, with the rubber buttons?

Think I'll pop into Maplins to see if they have any bits to improve it.

Thanks; opened easily but something seems to have come adrift as the circuit board is moving when you depress the button.

I feel a bit of a Heath Robinson coming up...

Inside mine I had a small piece of blank pcb material which clipped on top of the main pcb inside the fob. This held it in place, It was obviously made for the job.
