RE: TVR Sagaris!
Discussion
OK, so we have:
Tuscan 6
Tuscan S
T440
T400
T350
Cerbie
Chim
Tamora
... now yet another model? I can't help thinking there's a lack of direction in Blackpool right now. I'm sure we'd be better off with fewer models and more resources put into perfecting them.
Still no sign whatsoever of anything that will pick up the Chim market.

Tuscan 6, Tuscan S - Super sports tourer
T440, T400 - Le Mans Supercar
T350 - Track demon TVR
Cerbie - 2+2 TVR
Tamora - Open Top TVR
Sargaris - (Ferrari 360 Stradale) No compromise TVR
I think their range is refreshing and interesting and all very relevant.
And I do believe that they are perfecting their reliability and build quality.
Chim - Not really being made

There are only 3 engines throughout the range, however, two of which aren't being introduced in any new models. Then there's the fact that the running gear is being shared across multiple cars - Tamora & T350C/T (and the Sirgaris?) for instance.
It does seem like there are loads of new, similar models coming out (I personally think there are maybe too many), but if all the mechanics & electrics are shared then the resource is spread across them well, with an increased number of models hopefully introducing an increased number of customers to TVR, hence more money to invest in making them bullet proof (or maybe to invest in even more new models )
Don't run to buy a new segeris,........they are going to plant a super charged engine in to one later in the year (this has completed development at the factory). Heard this from a good source today. Then thay will give you a choice of three engines. The starting price will be the same as a Tuscan 'S'.

If that's correct, then the SC version is gonna be ridiculous....This must mean at least 500 horses and lighter than the SC 440R (T550) thus making it an ancient Greek AXE with even more attitude, a fucng monster that'll slay any beast that comes near it
Maybe I should wait a bit Then again, maybe I'm an impatient basrd
So that's car manufacturers for you.
While VW is about to attract millions of customers by launching a "Polo Fun" (bah - remember the "Golf Country"?), Porsche builds yet another special edition (boxster this time, I think). Mercedes Benz has enough wit to ask SLR-Customers (455.000,- €) to look up the options list for 19 inch rims (it's true!). Everybody will fall in love with an upcoming Maybach Coupe ('cos customers demand diversity).
Sounds reasonable, really.
And TVR? They go for the niche in the niche in the niche (...in the niche...). I quite like that. And it makes at least as much sense.
Supercharged Tamora anyone?

Am I the only one on here who is interested in the level of mid range grunt this things gonna have?! It's all well and good getting excited about 400+bhp but if the thing needs the nuts revved off it to deliver that power then whats the point? My Cerbs making the best part of 400lb/ft at 4000 odd rpm. That's what makes my spine tingle. Of course if the 6 is going to get a supercharger then mid range grunt isn't going to be a problem. My cheque book stays firmly in my pocket until Mr Ravenscroft promises me more of everything from idle speed to 7000rpm...
No doubt things will be a lot clearer once I've seen the thing in a week or so. Can't wait!

Here is a question - is it sad to book tickets to MPH03 just to see the TVR Sagaris?
Not if you're a stunning slim girly (which i guess you aren't) and you are taking me!
Seriously though, it's probably the ONLY reason to book tickets.
Good - glad I am not the only one then !!!
Dear Santa,...........I wish I was just as perfect as Big T.

washy said:If by the best part of 400lbft you mean about 300 dead, then fine. Slight exaggeration! The S6 engines should have a better spread of torque anyway due to their 4v head, but then you just miss that AJP camminess at 4000ish...

I don't think any TVR engine has suffered from relative lack of torque!
Danny - Are you suggesting that my 4.5 only makes 300lb/ft?! I'm going by the torque spread of a speed six 3.6 development unit I saw the dyno results for at the factory. John R and I compared it to my RR 4.5. The 6 could more or less match peak power at a little over 400bhp but torque at anything less then 5500 rpm was way down compared with the 4.5 AJP8.
