Flasher, less of the wise cracks! We need to stick together because I can't see the "Sultan of Berkshire" messing with us lesser mortals. I wonder if there is a pent house on the ferry?!? Still the "dancing donkey" looks good in the pictures even though it is still in primer!!!!!! Does this mean that Benno will be forwarding the Ferrari onto Le Mans and joining us via his private jet! Still I expect he will let us carry his bags!

Benno,
Well done with your selection and don't let them worry you with service cost tales.
Factor out all the breakages, rebuilds and Taxi fares you'll save and it'll be about the same as a TVR.

Where did you have it from? The picture looks like Maranello sales or Meridien I think?

I needed something with an extra 142bhp, an extra 2.7L of engine, 6 additional cylinders, faster (I think a top speed of 192mph is essential as is sub 5 seconds to 60). Factor in exclusivity with less than 50 in the country and a ridiculous new price...and it was too good a bargain to miss.

Ah, helps if I read the posts correctly then doesnt it. I was wondering what you can get with such power with a 2.7L engine - then again if I had read the post correctly then I would have noticed that it said EXTRA 2.7L.... Doh.

Still, wise choice and the first of the Ferraris that really had excellent build quality. For some reason they do depreciate rather fast in the first few years so a relative bargin now. To my eyes it is also one of the nicest too - dont really like the 360 and the 348 was a little strange. 355 is stunning, but hey I am arguing the toss about cars that are well out of my price range and could never afford!!!

Blue is the best colour too - watch out for that badge envy though. Know lots of people who have had Ferraris and had lots of problems with scratches.... More so than Porsches - buggers...

Cheers,

Paul

My car is a manual, lovely open gate 'clack, clack' gearchange. Read the early reports and they all said 6speed manual is better than auto.

What you dont realise till you see it in the flesh is how nice it looks, somehow the photos dont do it justice. Also it is very quick, probably because its about 250kgs lighter than a 550 maranello due to it being made from aluminium and carbon fibre, featuring a (£13,000!!!)bonnet!

It is less involving than the 911 but more of an experience, plus i always wanted a Fezz'r one day.

Mine came from a Ferrari dealer in the Cotswolds, but worth taking a look around. Personally i think it looks best in the darker blues, titanium or silver as it is a bit less 'in your face'.

Good luck

What made you take the GT route rather than the 355 / 360 option?

Having a one-year-old child made that decision for him Bertie. It was the Fezza or the Mazza 3200 GT. I think he made the right choice.

That's no excuse, I've got a 7 month old son myself and no compromises here!

Just buy the other half a nice comfy 4 seater.

fingers crossed it will be the 20th of April

if you fancy a drive up to the ********* that day rodders then give me a shout...the garage has 4 of schumaker's race cars, about 6 512M LM Cars, P4, Le Mans Daytona, Le Mans 512BB, 288 GTO, 250 GTO, F40's, F50's. Oh and about 15 360 Challenge cars and a handful of Daytona's.

I have never seen anything like it and if I won 10M on the lottery i could have it spent in about half and hour, 'dont spend it all in one shop'.

Would you believe it a complete schumi Ferrari 98 F1 car for £550K

yeah we have a 3L BMW and a A Class but are planning a few trips to France and possibly one down to Italy in the summer and that then means the Ferrari would have to stay at home.

Besides i got a superb deal on the 456 and a 355 would have been a bit ropey for the same money.
