Yipeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!! Got the Tamora back tonight, and I can't believe how much I've missed it

Spanking drive home on empty country roads, what a car!! Despite the little problems with the dashboard (that are all solved now..) this is the best TVR I've ever driven. The added bonus is finding out that my engine isn't all it appears to be......... no wonder it's bloody quick!!!!

So, how about your worries with the oil consumption? Is it regular now or does oil still seem to disappear somewhere?

Great News Flash. It has been 4 weeks now since the Griff went back to Castle's, so haven't had a TVR Fix for over a month now
The new Tamora is due to be delivered to them hopefully sometime this week, so hopefully ready to collect next week sometime
I am trying to get my Fix by reading this site everyday!!

Same here Flasher, got mine back on Saturday so went straight to TMS to get my 18" wheels fitted! Amazing how much better it looks!
Saw your car in workshop with the bonnet up looking sorry for itself. I noticed that the engine block had Vauxhall 1.2 Merit written on it! Is that what you're hinting at?
Cheers...... Andrew

Ever the doom king thom......

The oil is fine now, I had a faulty fuel pressure switch, and the seal was leaking oil. 5 minute job that one.....

As for the engine, well..... it may or may not have a few extra cc's......

Nigel,

I'm really loking forward to seeing your car, I haven't seen a Tamora in that colour , or one with anthracite 18" wheels. I bet you're excited..... picking up mine today was almost as good as picking it up the first time....

OK, I'll try and borrow a camera tomorrow.....
So it's a 4.0l? Did TMS know all along? So how many of the early cars are 4.0l?
Cheers..... Andrew

Jamer and Ted are right. I have been told that the first "few" may be 4.0 litre engines. They are now 3.6 litre engines as they are not making the 4.0 anymore.

At the end of the day it's impossible to tell isn't it. But I was told by a good source about the 4.0 bit.....

the additional factory mods mine had fitted help too

I’m sure I’ve said this before on here but when I went on my factory tour I was told by one of the engine builders that “there is absolutely no difference between the 4.0L and the 3.6L engines” When I pushed him on the fact that the displacement is obviously different he just said “Nope” and left it at that.

BTW the car is going great, no major problem except I can’t get it‘s 1st service done until the 29th and I’m already nearly at 1000 miles. Lucky I’m away for the next two weekends so I will not be to upset when It’s sitting in the garage and I can’t drive it.

It’s just getting quicker and quicker as I creep up the rev range. There still seems to be about another 2 inches before the pedal hits the carpet, can’t imagine how quick it’s going to be the first time I get to floor it.

PS: Did any of you guy ever get kick plates fitted to your cars ? Any news on them from factory or dealer ?

Not yet, asked at the factory and was told that they aren't making/fitting Tamora kick-plates!
A bit off your dealer not getting you into the workshop for your 1000 mile service! Having said that I booked my service the day I collected the car and did the first 1000 miles in less than 2 weeks!
Cheers....... Andrew

Took the Tamora to the station to fetch the Missus tonite and was promptly beseiged by some American tourists wanting to take pictures of the car!!!

I took great pleasure in telling them it was British and that you can't buy one in the States

Excellent this never happened to me before!!! Not that they wanted me in the pictures
