Too many miles on the clock

Just got my Tamora with, I believe, a 4.0L 360bhp engine. Lots of careful running in to go but I am very very very very pleased so far.

However I have checked the odometer several times and estimate it is over-reading by 12%.

Anyone else noticed this ?

Yes, it appears to be a common fault. The ECU will need re-calibrating, and I think mine may be the same. Contact your dealer. Your engine will probably be the 3.6l, 350bhp - I think only a few 4.0l engines appear to have found their way into Tamoras. Shucks!! But hey, it's fast enough as it is!!! Wait until you can hit 6500 revs, you'll see what I mean. Cheers!

Drizzle, I got my Tamora at the end of January and reckoned it was recording around 14% too many miles!
While I was on holiday at the end of last month my dealer returned the ECU to Blackpool. They've recalibrated and said it was 7% out. Glad I was on holiday as they took nearly 2 weeks!
Yet to test it on a familiar long journey but I'm sure it was more than 7%?

Does the 16" vs 18" wheel size thing make a difference or does the lower profile of the 18" tyres even things out?

Also, does this compromise the accuracy of the quoted performance figures and top speed?

The 18" wheel/tyre combo has a 2.1% greater rolling circumference, therefore the speedo will be under-reading by 2.1%. If the speedo originally over-read then it will be a bit more accurate.
