Sorry for the silly question.

In 'D' do you have to use the paddles to change gear or is there an option of a full auto mode?

Many thanks.

In my 09 DB9 Touchtronic the D is full auto.

The paddles are there if you fancy a play around, and you just hit the D button when you've finished smile

When you use a paddle the gearbox remains in manual (paddle) mode until you press D. Unlike the Jaguar XF/XJ which reverts to auto if the paddles have not been used for 30 secs or so.

here is another silly question about paddles

Can you select neutral whilst driving - to be totally honest i want to know because i want to be able to rev the engine in neutral (poser)

can you quickly select neutral rev the engine and then go back into gear : A with flappy paddles B: with bottons on dash - both without causing any harm ?

No you can’t select N when driving expecting to give a little blip of the throttle and then back to D. Transmission is a torque converter gearbox and this isn’t possible. You can do it if you like when stationary but must wait for RPM back to idle before engage D. Plus you will need to keep foot on brake to engage D again as per the norm.

Dont know about the paddles but pressing the N button at standstill is not going to cause any issues. I think with the vantage ss3 box pulling both paddles together selects neutral. I havent tried it on the db9 touchtronic2 yet... also on this tt2 box if you hold an upshift paddle for a couple of seconds it will go into D without the terrible inconvenience of pressing the D button on the centre console.

Hi,
If you pull both paddles towards you it goes into neutral.
Pressing D again will engage Auto (not sure how you select a certain gear direct - I.e. 3rd from neutral).

I didn't know about the pulling the right hand paddle for 3 secs to engage 'D'.
