Hi all,

Pardon the interuption but thought I would ask directly in here as directed by PHEA.

I am part of a group who are running a Passenger Rides in Race and Supercars day at Snetterton on Saturday 26th November.

We are being joined by Roger Bennington from Long Stratton Motor Company along with the Hertitage Touring Cars and it would be great to be able to offer passenger rides in a couple of Aston Martin's in amongst the other Supercars...

There are more details here including contact details if you feel you can help in any way even if it's just advice..

Many thanks for reading.

Hi Kev,

sounds like a fun day, I went to the Dad's Day Out earlier this summer and bagged a ride in a Pagani Zonda S around the Top Gear test track - oowww.. smile

I'd absolutely love to participate, but I've not had my Aston long and I wouldn't trust myself to drive on a fast track at 8/10ths to be honest... hopefully next year though.

I'm sure you'll find lots of offers from this forum once they wake up - most of the Vantage owners are out partying with supermodels this time of night, and the DB9 guys have long since supped their cocoa and headed off to bed. I'm in the first bracket, but I only do supermodels at the weekends smile

Hi Kev, I've done some similar charity events in my old DB7, would love to take people out in the DB9 (Chiltern green Volante manual with some modifications). I'll check my work schedule and let you know.

Is there a noise limit on track? My car is not exactly 'standard'...

Very happy to help out here. Just emailed you....

Usual Aston Ph'ers - I pinged Kev and said we might be able to get a few cars to 'display' if he needed it. Am awaiting a response.

Guys,

I am told there is a 105db noise drive by limit operating at Snetterton if that helps.

Pete, i think darren who looks after PistonHeads East Anglia is arranging a 'club' forum gatherign at the event but if you wish to have an Aston group them we would more than love to have you guys there...

Just drop me a line and I will pass the details onto Danny who is collating the clubs in attendance.

thanks for the interest. It means a lot.

thanks for volunteering Pete...names on the list wink

Well, I have been promised not one but two McLaren MP4's today so looking like some nice passenger rides going to be on offer.

Hope to get some more Aston's on the day...

Thanks again

I might well be up for this, as Snetterton is just up the road (it's a long road, though hehe )

KevF,

I would really like to attend but being over 2 hours away and a diary that keeps moving all over the shop, I dont want to promise coming then back out and leave people disappointed so:

Couple of questions.

1. When is the latest you need to know by for a confirmation that I will attend?
2. Do I need to be there the full day or just morning / afternoon, etc?
3. If I manage to go, I am happy to do as many laps as required. I guess how long is a piece of string but any rough idea how many times you expect me to go out would be great?

I have a V8VR so happy to put the top down if the kids want event if raining smile Get to hear the noise better and quite amusing (did it when coming back from Spa last month with the wife and about 80 mph is fine even in torrential rain) - you do get some odd looks though but still made the wife smile as I misjudged the 'darkness' of the cloud above and chose not to stop beforehand much to the wife's bemusement.

Cracking idea and fingers crossed I can attend.
