Hi Mike, was yours the '06 Titanium Silver / Anthracite wheeled car I saw on PH?

Lovely looking car if so, I presumed you'd sold - although there are the same cars appearing for a long time in the ads currently, I think the market is a bit tough right now. I'm waiting to move my M3 on before I go shopping and the phone is a little quiet so far... good luck!

I'm a Ferrari man and got forced to buy my V8 to keep the wife happy, but I must say I'm converted I loved the v8 so much I've just put a deposit on a DBS!
I've had lots of cars and the quality and feel of the V8 has been amazing the car makes every trip feel special.

Buy one!!!!

But be careful we looked at loads.

You may have to pay a little more for the right car( we did but it's worth it)

Good luck

hi mate,

that's the one, it seems everyone has decided to go anthracite with the alloys so a number look very simlar

I do have 2 people interested and one that is happy to leave a deposit however in a simlar situation of having to sell his car or arrange finance so a little reluctant.

I love my v8v so much so I am now looking to move to a v12v

drop me a pm reference your m3 as dependant on age, spec and miles could be interested as a 2nd every day car. I had been looking at a 997 but m3 also fits the bill.

Funny thing about colors/colours. My V8V is Onyx, simply because I thought it looks the best -- when it is clean (and especially on a sunny day (we have those in the States)) -- there is nothing like it. The depth and reflectivity of Onyx is absolutely stunning. And yes, I do keep it clean.

Shortly after I got my car, I was out driving just for fun, and what do I see but another V8V just ahead (the only time I've randomly been next to another V8V on the road). It was also brand new, and it was Toro Red. I thought it looked absolutely fantastic, and couldn't help but think, maybe I should have gotten Toro Red. At a traffic light, windows down, the driver of the Toro car looked over at my car and said "Wow, that's stunning, I should've gotten that color!"

I do like blackyes but for me the interior would have to be some other colour, iron ore, sandstone, or that nice saddle brown they do....
Ahhh, iron ore, my favourite. All early DB9s seemed to be iron ore and now hardly ever see it, shame really. Think it would look wonderful with my Chiltern green exterior... Wonder if I can get an interior from a busted DB9..?

You'll probably find this a lot - it's only a problem because these are so often used as daily drivers smile

I'm in the former group...however I doubt somehow a private seller will be interested in p/exing their Vantage for a Cayman S (and dealer p/ex is beyond what I'm prepared to stomach, certainly on those sums offered so far - I might be able to pay for planned new kitchen with the difference :O)

Could probably get this for £40k - http://pistonheads.com/sales/3209976.htm

Much nicer colour than the dreary grey/silver/black ones.
I have seen a few for sale in Toro Red, does look nice in the photos but not managed to see one in the flesh. They seem to be a premium over some other colours, given comparative spec etc.

It's a matter of personal choice, but I much prefer grey/silver to Black or White grumpy
Indeed it is a matter of personal choice. But much as I dislike red Ferarris due to overexposure, I feel the same way about grey Vantages, a good 9/10 of the Astons I see on the roads are silver/grey and then almost all of them have a black interior. Problem is it suits the car so well smile

That Toro car is simply lovely. Historically a red Aston has been hard to shift, but that colour is stunning and should age well too.
Agree, they do look stunning in the silver/greys - my original favourites were Tungsten and Meteorite. Would love Aston/ British Racing Green but only ever seen one and it had some Bamford Rose stuff all over it wink

Thought I'd get one or two plugs wink Nice car, but not looking for black, too lazy to dust it all the time and we have a real problem with dust where I live, my S4 Avant is Sprint Blue and looks amazing clean, half an hour later a thin haze has landed and it loses its shine (but it lives outdoors!)

Hi Mike, still looking. Emailed you also. Only prob with yours is the colour, I set out to move away from silver with this car, but all the best deals are silver cars!

Big no from me that one I am afraid, boring black or possibly a cream with the right colour car.

Apart from the wheels, that is fantastic! I would definitely have a V8V in that colour. Either that, or possibly Karussell orange.

Yep, I've decided on Onyx Black for my next Aston, most likely a V8V. Saw one at a motorshow last year and was absolutely sold (though not literally, yet) on the depth and reflectivity. The girl I was with said she wouldn't normally go for a black one but this was exceptional. Have seen a few on sale, they usually have black interior with red detailing, which is fine by me.

I'm one of the few people that actually likes a bit of wood panelling in a car, bring a bit of colour and class. I absolutely loathe and despise the iron ore, green, and all those unusual interior colours, sorry! Black and/or cream for me.

Afraid I'm with Georgeous on this one Michael.

Willing to concede the point that it could be construed as 'marmitey' thus proving problematic at the resale point.

Canary yellow, eh.........should get it cheap smile

Sunburst yellow, no? Having previously owned a yellow car, as much as I loved it, it did result in much piss taking from my friends, but the black and white chequered roof didn't exactly help hehe

If I was in the market for a V8V, this one would be my first choice - http://pistonheads.com/sales/2706091.htm

There is no doubt in my mind that you are correct on the yellow Georgeous - I made up the 'canary yellow' as a cheap way of punning the word 'cheap'. At 3.00am you will awaken, say the words 'oh. I get it' then relapse into your Fifa Gamer dream.

That orange V8 is a lovely colour - anything with a bit of depth gets my vote really. High mileage ? Clear Rears on a 2008 ? One of the few V8s you would not debadge ? smile

Thank you for the explanation Jockman, your complex wordplay had lost me completely. I shall let you know when it clicks tongue out

The N400 does seem a bit expensive for quite a high mileage example. I would probably go to £45k max for that particular one. Clear rears are standard on the N400 I believe, and I wouldn't de-badge any Aston smile

Flame Orange is probably now the Orange of choice, a la DBS Carbon Edition. Clear Rears are standard on all models now I think but I shall take your word on a 2008 model.

I would always debage the entry level model of any manufacturer. Even a gorgeous looking, high quality £110K car smile

I also like Madagascar orange off the Virage, and Montana orange off the V12V. My favourite is still Karussel though.

I had my SL de-badged, but it's different to an Aston - there were several engine variants, it basicly looked the same as an SL500. With the Aston, it's not as if someone is going to mistake it for a DBS or something. Quite obvious it's a V8V, and since the badge makes no reference to 4.3 vs 4.7, I would just leave it on. Plus the N400 has a cool little addition to the badge - therefore not the base model. smile

You would be surprised at how many people mistake a V8V for a DB9, until they look inside. DBS and V12V can suffer from the same issue if all you get is a quick look at the bonnet.

I agree that I would not debadge this car, as I too like the addition smile

Conversely, I think Iron Ore is great (probably my favourite) and would probably consider black cherry or blue as well. There are a couple of cars out there with a kind of two-tone grey and green which might work too. Personally I don't feel wood panelling is quite right in a Vantage - too pipe and slippers wink

Plus I also think black is too impractical (certainly for anything intended as a daily driver).

Just shows how varied people's tastes are and that there's a car out there for everyone smile
