Removal of Fuse 22 on a DB9

Pros and cons...

Clearly the main pro is noise but what are the cons - too loud in the cruise? / engine management/emmissions lights coming on (hiding any other problems that may arise)? / does it affect warranty?

Any ideas welcome please.

No downside to be honest, though better to get it 'decorked' for a long-term solution.

DB9 fuse box is located on the left of the boot.

Cuda, you asked me about the remote switch. Here's the 6speed thread were I learned about it. It is complete with instructions and pictures. BTW, I am Racer_X on 6speed.

I agree with Yeti. No real downside to pulling the fuse. It doesn't hurt the car and it's not too loud. However, if/when you want to quiet things down (e.g., to have a conversation or hear the stereo better at highway speeds), you can use the switch. It works great.

Hi folks

I am new to this forum and am in my 'research' phase hoping to go for a 2007 V8V at some stage in the near future. Back on topic though, I have read a lot about the F22 and switches etc but I wanted to point out that it is really important that another fuse is placed in line with any switch or wireless device fed from the F22 contacts. Without doing this and simply putting a switch in removes protection for the wiring and solenoid valve or equivalent.

Don't wish my first post to appear as though I am some Aston expert FAR from it but would not like to think one of your lovely motors burns a wire out etc.I am more from an electrical background than an Aston one.

Really learning A lot from the forum and have just finished reading Grant Neal's book.

I have no downsides to report.

If you drive gently, then there is no noticeable increase in volume. You only notice the difference when you use the throttle. IMHO, you can control the noise without a switch.

Don't listen to the naysayers. Rick did mine and absolutely no probs. As Don intimates, it is only at at a certain rpm that it kicks in anyway.

I took mine out when I got the car, but I put it back for a day or two every couple of months, just to ensure it won't get stuck in the open position. Never had any regrets about doing it, and would highly recommend it

I know the car would probably be fine without me doing it, but I just prefer to err on the side of caution. It certainly won't do any harm anyway
