I collect my V8V tomorrow.
Discussion
Hi all,
Despite Slarti pipping me to the post and buying the the car I originally wanted, I've found a stunner that should help keep a smile on my face.
I'm collecting my V8V tomorrow from Aston Martin, Walton On Thames. I have to say that Paul Spires has been a pleasure to deal with.
It's a 2006 (56), meteorite grey/silver with 29k on the clock. It has been given a 40k service and new pads all round, despite the old pads looking good to me. Plus various other incentives. I'm amazed at how generous they have been there.
I really can't wait. The next 24hrs will be a killer.
All I need now is an update disc for the sat nav. Which is the latest disc I can use for my car and the best place to obtain it?
Woo hoo,
John

Pmsl. I have the Tom Tom app on my iPhone and it's fantastic. Much better than the Audi system.
I'm just a tart and hate to spoil theminside with a Tom Tom lol
Oh I so know the pic rules and will fully comply

Satnav update:
On this link: http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?t=999...
I found this place: http://www.satnav-updates.com
who can sell you a back-up copy of the 2011 DVD for considerably less than Volvo, who in turn considerably cheaper than AM. It now accepts full postcodes.

Hey, well done and congrats!! I picked mine up today at about 5pm. It's 337am and finally managed to drag myself away from it. It's astonishingly beautiful, I just can't stop looking a it! Also, I've never had as many looks in it as I ever got in my 997! People in adjacent cars were rubber necking as they drove past me or I past them! You're going to have a blast this weekend and beyond. My buying experience was OK but very, very let down on one point. I haggled like hell for a disount, but never got one, eventually, they agrees to give me a brolley and a pureguard application. I get home, take out the brolley and it's a cheap sodding stratstone one - not the Aston one that I was expecting. Sour taste or what! I'll be letting them know next week!!!
My trouble aside, you did well my friend. Youll have a huge smile on your face and you're going to enjoy every second of it!

Hi, Slarti
I'm chuffed to hear how well your first day AND NIGHT went, lol.
Hey, don't worry about the haggling. You got a lovely car there and it's definitely worth every penny. I must admit that I do seem to have got very lucky on a number of things (including price) but I guess the margins were there to do so. You're car is also very slightly updated, which makes it a little more desirable.
Perhaps next time you can do a national search and get the best deal by playing them off each other. There's nothing wrong with doing that, unless you're one of lifes little time wasters; which you're clearly not. You're an Aston driver, Sir
I did the Porsche thing and it was sometimes nice to park up and know it blends in more, so there was less chance of drawing unwanted attention. But the looks I used to get in the Maserati and the sound that thing made was amazing. I'm sure owning the Aston will be more like owning the Maserati. Poeple will smile and let you go and the attention you get will almost always be positive. I think it's a lot less so in a Porsche or BMW.
OMG! Just 4hrs to go, Hee hee

Got my third round of applause this week from a bunch of young men. And a big thumbs up which I respectfully returned.
The thing is, they are not 'in your face' type cars. They are instead objects of beauty, with a lot of finesse, grace and poise about them.
You just get used to it - enjoy your beasts and keep posting up any tips or advice.
PS, I too received a stratstone brolly. There are bigger things to think about now

I had exactly the same thing - I refused to use it and advertise them, so I gave it away and removed all stickers from the car too Quinny said:
Just get a Garmin or a Tom Tom.... It'll be cheaper and actually get you to where you're going
Oh and don't forget pictures are compulsory.... Or you can't post in the AM forums anymore
The wait is a killer isn't it Oh and don't forget pictures are compulsory.... Or you can't post in the AM forums anymore
I've always used the Tom Tom as I use the itinery files for hoons and points of interest.
Tucks away nicely at the bottom of the A pillar.
