Chubb are superb.

Choice of repairer, which was Works Service for me. Up to £4k for like to like replacement car while yours is repaired and clear communication throughout the whole process.

Join AMOC and then try Locktons, they're the AMOC specialist.

Though I'm with ClassicLine as I have a fleet policy now...

Zurich private clients or Chubb.

Both are excellent.

ZPC and Chubb both allow you to choose the repairer - that's crucial.

I recently bought a 4 year old V8V coupe cool to keep my RR Sport SC company in the garage. I built a list of all the sources of insurance recommended in the Aston forums and set about contacting each one.

The RR cost circa £1,300pa for me and the missus (50 and 37 years old, 2 sp30s each and 10 and 7 years ncd's). I wanted us both insured on the RR & Aston and asked each company to try swaping the main and second driver round to see if it made any difference. It doesn't seem to.

Bottom line all were much of a muchness i.e. circa £2,600 to £2,800 per annum confused for both to be insured on both cars. That is until we phoned Locktons. They offered to insure both cars for about £70 more pa than I was already paying for the RR. I tried to cancel my cover on the RR which I paid in full in July and was told I would lose 55% of my premium and £40 handling charge. I went back to Locktons and reluctantly told them I could not give them the RR until next July and this did not change the original price they gave me for the Aston. Awesome. Who said owning an Aston is expensive.

I added on some bonus protection and voila I ended up with a stella deal.

Oh the people who thought a 55% exit penalty was reasonable were Aviva via Right Choice insurance brokers.bandit

IF anyone wants my list I can dig it out and post it in here.

Chubb Masterpiece is a masterpiece. Agreed value, no question, any driver, European breakdown, like-for-like during repair where you wish, etc. Damn expensive though. The Chubb policy through Locktons via AMOC is almost as good, but a lot less expensive.

ETA: I think that with insurance you pay for what you get; or actually you get what you pay for. I sleep happy believing I have no worries should I ever have to claim (never have done yet) . I could insure my cars for one-tenth of what it currently costs me, but not sure I would sleep well if I did.

Actually, you can get that with all insurance companies, jus some prefer not to tell you up front and make it difficult.

Please remember the lack of third party cover in most situations under the Chubb regime.

Not a complaint as I am happily in bed with them at the moment smile

Well, I know that. But you try having that argument?!

My V12 was collected by Works Service on a low loader and is in Newport Pagnell as we speak under the tender mercies of the team there. Total number of phone calls from me - two. No mess, no fuss, no stress. And a 911 turbo to play with in the meantime.

Now that's what I'm talking about

Quick online qoute last night decided this would be my last quotation as im getting pretty bored with repeating my self with one company after another.

Tried Loctons as suggested on here they turned out to be cheaper, and a lower excess, and no extra charge for putting my wife on it.

Result thumbup

They were very efficiant and generally very nice people and i get part free membership to AMOC

Thanks for the heads up and only a day to wait now before i get my car bounce
