The Rapide is starting to look good value on the used market IMO, for a DB9 owner...
Absolutely.

Possible upgrade next year will entail a look at the Virage and the Rapide.

There is still a 'thug' inside me that wants to stick up 2 fingers and get a V12V or DBS.

I suppose a lot will depend on my mood at the time smile

EVO have been running a Rapide long term car for the past few months - probably worth a read.

Not bad Graham.

Remember that there are no CCMs on the Rapide. Indeed on the spec sheets in the last AM Quarterly these were not even an option.

Anybody know why, or have I read this incorrectly? smile

Where's the option list on the latest AM mag (the blue one with Will and Kate on the cover)? The orange one had it, but this one doesn't. It doesn't even list what brakes the Rapide has, let alone the options. Unless I haven't received the latest issue yet.

Although, you are right, the AM website doesn't list the CCM brakes as an option smile

I shall check at home Georgeous, but I'm sure every mag has a spec list at the back of the recent offerings. Perhaps this has prompted me to go onto the online option list??

Either way, the CCMs would be on the Virage spec list as standard, not optional, but would not be on either the spec list or the option list for the Rapide smile

I think there's a little spec and write up on each model in the current range in the blue one, but in the orange one it was way more detailed. Unless I'm thinking of something else entirely, and am speaking complete bks. smile

The Rapide does feature larger (390/360mm - vs 355/330mm DB9/Vantage) special discs that are lighter weight due to being a mix of aluminium and steel (duel cast!) but as Jockyman has said they aren't CCM's and there isn't an official option for these (but I guess with enough ££'s you could have them!) - anyway you don't need to go digging out old AM mags it's all in the you know what biggrin

My boss has just bought one today.

So that's a 996 Turbo.
A Supercharged Range Rover.
And now a Rapide.
Nice collection.

New issue arrived today, and I was right woohoo

Doesn't list the brakes for any model. Even on the Virage, so tongue out

It does have a feature on a seriously cool safe/watch winder that goes hand in hand with your One-77 though. Dread to think what it costs smile

A DBS is a car for a gentleman thug.

A V12V is a car for a gentleman brute.

Both were on my shopping list this year. But I'm more brutal than thuggish. So I have a V12V - in between her visits to Newport Pagnell for surgery!

Yep :-). And a friend of mine has a Continental GT. Huge difference. Bentley has no sound at all compared to the Rapide. But has AWD and a bigger display and the more modern entertainment, kudos to Audi. Looks high class inside, but I'd say rather for elder people. It's something I'd like to have in 15-20 years. Rapide is easier to enter in the back because of the doors. Both are about the same comfort (or lack of) in the back. For children perfect. Rear Seat entertainment can be controlled from the front also.

Just driven one on a track. It's an absolute weapon! Suddenly saw it in a completely different light. Massively impressed.

Took my pal's Continental out a couple of days ago - very, very impressed with it. Nice luxurious finish inside it and that engine - wow! I need to see if I can blag a Rapide for a test-drive. Anybody fancy loaning me one for a couple of days?? :-)
