There are big services and small services. You may have dropped on a big one.
Wait till they find a few things that need doing....:-(

It does seem a lot though. My last big one at Chiltern was about a grand plus work. (DB7)

its the 4 year /40K service -even tho the car has only done 15K-is that a big one to your knowledge or are they taking the proverbial?

They go by the service book, not the actual mileage.
Try another specialist to compare prices.

4th year is the biggie (for the V8V and probably the 9); although £1600 does seem a bit on the high side. Mileage doesn't come into it as they change various fluids regardless.

ah the power of help and support on here -and a reasonable ability to negotiate-got it down to £900! DEAL!

If they are that quick to lower the price, perhaps they don't have a published price list, which seems strange.
Make sure you know what you are getting for your money.
Chiltern have a sheet of paper with the prices for each type of service on it.

Mojo, stay on the forum and you will get these pearls of wisdom on a regular basis.

Only 4 weeks ago, Michael was giving the same advice smile

How come you use Mobil 1 instead of Castrol? Are there any differences?

Nope - both fully synthetic - but our Manuals say Mobil 1 (can be slightly cheaper than Castrol Edge)..............unless your Manual says differently Georgeous smile

I shall check tonight. I think it's Castrol that I've got at home. Only had to use it one though so I might be wrong, I usually buy what the manual recommends, but this was 18 months ago.

Push your luck. If we all supply our own oil dealers will get the message and reduce their mark-up.

Nielsen do a good deal.
