Don't! Give it a couple of months and they will be everywhere! I suspect they will depriciate heavily at this stage too.

Get a 2nd hand proper Range Rover instead. Or even better, put the cash to the DBS volante fund smile

Who knows, no rush in any case, just wanted to see what info people had on this orange V12V.

Somebody posted in one of the threads earlier that it IS a carbon black car but was sent back to the factory to be resprayed (and re-stiched) in Orange later.
That was me. Geoff Wickens, the sales manager at the Harwoods dealer where this car is up for sale told me in person that the car was black and had gone back to Works for a Montana respray.

so the colour on the V5 would say black and not " i will drop like a stone in value orange" that should help its value !!!

I think you have to inform the DVLA if you change the colour, so in theory the V5 will say orange smile

What I want to know is why they changed.

Probably saw the stunning reaction to the Virage in Orange.

Plus the contrast on the CB louvres is breathtaking smile

It does, but there must have been an incentive to get it done?

Actually in dim light I thought the orange looked rather spectacular, although not in the dark so cannot judge, but Lambos look good at night!

So I think the theory that they saw how the Virage went down and resprayed it is a good one, how much would it cost to respray it back to black because I can imagine at the current value there's a chance that may happen?

Geoff is the person I spoke to when looking at the car on Saturday too, but I was distracted by a lot of other cars to ask too many questions.

That figures
Black isn't a colour, merely a level of luminance biggrin

Impossible Shmee !!!

Georgeous H clearly stated last night that it was a 2010 model.

It would be unusual if he were incorrect smile

No I didn't, I said the Lightning silver one with the painted louvres that you were on about was a 2010 model.

It's a 2010 car isn't it? Therefore one year old, but one year newer than some of the others. There are a few other 2010 cars for sale in the £95k region though.

In these tough credit crunched times even Astons - usually loved by most - can get a few resentful glares, so why you would want a rather flash bright orange "look at me I'm rich colour" at the moment I don't know, not a time for conspicuous consumption IMO - but then again each to their own.

Jockman, it isn't any cheaper than other V12V's with similar mileage. In fact, for the same money you can get a lovely Lightning silver one with the bonnet vents painted, and it has less than half the mileage.
Two things concern me Georgeous.

Firstly, it is a current year car. This price level is visible on first issue V12Vs.

Secondly, I thought the CF bonnet louvres were unable to be painted ??? smile

The louvres can't be painted by AM because they can't get them to their usual high paint standards I believe. Nothing says they can't be painted by an indy though. I love the interior on that car though, blue and cream works very well.
And just for the record, I definitely was on about the lighting silver one! As you correctly mentioned previously, I'm never wrong biglaugh

Good morning all, just for clarification, the car is a unique Carbon Black Edition. All Carbon Black V12's were indeed black in colour, this was a one off painted by the factory in Montana Orange. I hope this helps? Regards, Geoff Wickens, Sales Manager, Harwoods Aston Martin.
