On the ' lighten up' theme how about a thread with those - not so cool Aston moments ?

Like pulling up at a shop in the Volante with the wife on a sunny day to be surrounded by ' green with envy on lookers ' and feeling as proud as punch .On returning to the open top car , closely observed by the crowd the ' up up and away ' moment was lost forever when the wife attempted to open the door as I was unlocking it , the door jammed and - long story short - she ended up climbing over the drivers seat to get into the car - and yes I prolonged the moment by stalling it in my haste to get away.
Moral of the story - always take a super model not the wife when showing off in the Aston.biglaugh

Car parked outside local pub on a Sunday afternoon. Starts to drizzle, so I put the roof up and the driver's side rear window gets stuck. Cue much piss taking when I had to put cling film over it for the drive home hehe

Was not amused!

Not the same. In front of people watching is 1000x worse. Admitting it, not so bad.

For example - when I tested the Merc SLS, I got out at the end, stood up, and smacked my head on the gullwing door. Pretty much everyone in the dealers saw me do it (and thought it was quite amusing). Now if I had done that with no one around, then told someone after, wouldn't be half as embarrassing for me.

I did feel better when the sales manager said a lot of people do it though hehe

Worst moment for me was the first full day of ownership - our first Aston as mitigation- and my wife and I went for our first drive. After stalling it on the drive I got it going and had a half hour around town, trying to get to grips with the handbrake being on the wrong side, throttle control, first manual car for over 5 years, etc etc.
Anyway, my wife decided it was her turn and i told her it was different to what we were used to but she voiced her opinion " how hard can it be?" in that bossy wifey tone we all know. She set away on a straight road, turned a couple junctions and came to a crossroads with a hill start. She stalled a couple times, slipped back, then yanked the brakes on. She was sweating!
Another car had pulled up behind us piling the pressure on her and pedestrians were admiring the car, as they do. After a few seconds she asked me to go and tell the driver of the car behind to drop back in case she rolled into him! His face was a picture but he dropped back about a car length when I explained it was her first drive. She then screamed away slipping the clutch. After about a minute of silence in the car I simply asked her "well, how hard hard could it be then?".
For once she didn't have anything to say!

Return to car with five year old son after seeing Cars 2. Car parked next to a removal van with full complement of removal meh. "Let's hear it then" - press starter button and nothing happens. Had to call AM Emergency Service who identified a wiring issue after an hour and a half. Car had to be low-loadered off next morning.

It was a simple broken wire at a joint bodged by somebody in the past.

Unless mice apply insulating tape to bodged joins, I'm pretty sure it was the people that put in the Dension iPod connector (they also scratched the dash and had to have it revarnished).

I remember in my first Aston a DB7 i6......I went to the pub on a sunny day with friends sitting outside the pub watching my arrival.....I slammed the door shut and the wing mirror fell off.....the crowd on the balcony at the pub clapped

Indeed. So far as I'm aware; he's never ventured back. A damn shame too I say. I wonder how the mouse is.
