Here's the photos of the Zagato prototype #001 from my visit to AM Wilmslow last Thursday:-

I'm well aware I'm flying in the face of popular opinion but I like it more every time I see it. I'm not a Zagato fanboy by any means;

DB7 Zagato doesn't float my boat but the DB AR1 is one of the most beautiful cars I have ever seen. I prefer the regular DB4GT to the DB4 Zagato although I like it, and the Aston Zagato V8 is one of tyhe worst cars i have ever seen. This is distictive, strictly limited, a V12V with a handmade ally body and a racing pedigree already. Prie is silly but so it should be, it's a Zagato limited edition!

I'd rather have a Spyker though smile

I hate to be cheeky but do you have photos of the DBS next to it? How do those special edition wheels look in person?

Yeti, I can't help but agree with everything you are saying. I always thought it was just me who didn't prefer the DB4 Zagato to the 'regular' DB4GT.

The Zagato V8 is one of the worst designs I think I have ever seen, it looks like it was designed with a rule! The standard V8 is one of my all time favourites as well.

The V12VZ in the pictures looks quite nice, but those wheels hurl
I would take a standard V12V over it every time.

Are there any more pics of the DBS carbon editon? The Flame Orange colour looked fantastic in the press release photos, but looks like red in those pics.

Yes I have some pics of the DBS Carbon. I'll put them up tomorrow. The colour is reddish orange.
I really liked the wheels on the DBS!

Thank you very much, I suppose they're one of those things you just have to see in person to make a decision. Without the special edition treatment they're my favourite wheels of any car at least.

If anyone is due to see the Zagato - can you please get some pictures of the engine? It's supposed to generate 540bhp and I'd like to see the difference. Unfortunately I suspect there is no mechanical difference, I think it's just an exhaust system change. Any pictures of the exhaust manifold much appreciated.

One question - what's the yellow knob by the offside rear brake light cluster?

I'd hazard a connection for airjacks.

John - you cannot get an engine photo as no apertures are allowed to be opened! I took one of the inside by opening the driver's door before I realised it said "do not open" on the side window! OOPS!

Even the car was pushed into the showroom from the transporter and is not allowed to be started up by the dealership apparently.

I can understand that - it sounds like a cement mixer on idle on the youtube clips I have seen!

Here's a photo of the DBS Carbon Edition showing the new style alloys, plus another shot of the Zag which shows the curvature of the roof line:-

Wow! It's one of those things I think I should hate but absolutely love. I really need to see one in the flesh, but currently it would be my guilty pleasure.

fk me, the wheels on the DBS are even worse than the Zagato's! Looks like something more suited to a chaved up Saxo than an Aston. Absolutely hideous imo, ruins the rest of the car.

Flame orange looks good though. How come the exhaust is black, is that one of the additions of the carbon edition?

+ another. Those wheels make the Zagato's look good. There is something seriously off kilter with Astom wheel design.
