Lancaster Reading did me a set of four DBS 20" Pirelli Sotto Zero winter tyres for just under 2k.
Best deal so far ??

The V12V ones are also Pirelli Sottozeros, but only 19" (as per the V8V, V8VS and DB9).

Not sure whether or not that 1" impacts upon the price or not confused

Tyres vs tyres and wheels. For the V12V AML recommend that you fit the winter tyres to new wheels - not the standard wheels.

I paid £2,947.86 inc Vat, wheels, tyres, fitting, TPMS, grey centres, lifetime storage of the spare set and lifetime swaps between the 2 sets, from HWM. Make sure you get the lifetime storage and lifetime swaps between the 2 sets of wheels in writing to avoid any confusion in the future.

And so for the full hit the prevailing deal is around Zod's figure of £2.9K.

Why do they recommend the Pirelli for all models EXCEPT the Rapide (Bridgestone) ??? smile

The winter tyres (and therefore whels) are narrower - 255 & 275 (not exactly narrow tyres by any normal standards).

Because on the Rapide, you have no other choice. Rims are only OEM ones so far (245/40 front, 295/35 back) so the only tyre on the market for both front and back is the Bridgestone AMR Type.

I just fitted them yesterday, drove only 500m so far (distance from my tyre dealer back home). I can tell
about their behavior only next week, and then probably only fast highway dry around 10 Degrees C. They have a massive profile though :-)

Ok, a quote list (no naming and shaming):
£5072
£3696
£3486
£3485
£3404

In all cases this is supply of the Aston Martin V12V winter wheels and tyres, tpms, balancing, fitting and storage.

So - I am most impressed that Zod managed less than £3000.

Strangely - the highest quote here was from the firm that provided the lowest quote for the second service of a V12V.

When did you buy them? I cannot get near that quote - I am north by £500 at best...

Ordered with the car in September. That's the price on the invoice and it's in the gross column. I can't find the email with the original quote, but if I do, I'l send it on.

Thank you very much. This is Stratstone in Amersham?

I've found the email now and it says "the best price we can offer is £3500". I've rechecked the invoice and the £2916.67 was the net price. Including VAT, the price would therefore have been £3500. All I managed to get out of them was agreement to store the set of wheels not in use.

Sorry, but brain was not fully in gear at the end of last week.

Zod - you did well - I have just been quoted £4048 from the folks who supplied your wheels & tyres...

This is a most impressive price. When did you buy the wheels and tyres? The same folks quoted me £3486.

I've heard it rumoured. Will pass that onto management in January and see if I can get a cost-of-living adjustment!

I suspect that they gave you a good price because you were buying a car from them...

I suspect you may be right, although it's difficult to see it as a good price!

This was in November 2010 so 1 year ago. We did buy 2 sets, as a work colleague and I have the same car, so slight deal offered then. I think AML were also offering some support to them as well.

Ah, right, that explains it. Best price I have managed is £3404 for one set.

Thanks!
