Protection again Stone Chips?

I inherited venture shield on my last V8V and I put it on the current V8VS.
Before the last V8V I was dead against it as you can sometimes see the lines.
After 10K miles of A&B roads with out a stone chip I was a convert.
I spent £800 have the 3M Ventureshield put on the New V8VS as soon as I got it home, a few things I'd point out:
1) It seals in the "condition" of the paint, so get any paint chips, blemishes and swirl marks sorted first, I got mine machine polished and detailed first.
2) Get the FULL kit as it protects alot more (full bonnet, front bumper, front lip, headlights front of each wing, mirrors, door handles, extended rear quarters, lower edge of rear bumper, boot to bumper area.)
3) Make sure who ever fits it uses precut templates DO NOT allow them to cut it on the car with a scapel!
4) Any new paint needs 4 weeks for water based paint to set and degas properly you then need to do point 1
5) When polishing the car afterwards tape up the edges of the film or you will force wax in the the edge and high light the line
6) once it's on leave it in a warm garage over night to set in position properly (less of an issue in the summer)

But any approved 3M Venture Shield installer will have the templates, use genuine product (lots of cheap fakes around ) give you 5 years warranty on the material and 1 year on the install
Even some of the 3M Ventureshield kits need trimming on the car, make sure whoever does it has the right, specific insurance to do that type of work, just in case, you can cut the film on the car without cutting through or into the paint, cutting a bonnet on a brand new Aston V12 does make you nip up but sometimes it has to be done, I wouldn't do it with an over zealous owner looking over my shoulder though, that would be asking for trouble (a bad cut)Before the last V8V I was dead against it as you can sometimes see the lines.

You are not supposed to polish it afterwards, the warranty cards, which have now been dropped since 3M took over as there is no lifetime warranty anymore, just 5 years now, say to leave the film for at least 3 days before you do anything to it.
We are still in the dealer list for VS on that website you mention and still have some wider stock of that for full bonnets but we have moved to a new film, slightly thicker, environmentally friendlier, made to higher standards, longer warranty, better protection etc, no orange peel effect either.
£800 for full bonnet, wings etc on an Aston, is cheap, so cheap I wouldn't bother myself but plenty of price fixed (in your favour) dealers out there still who would, grab yourself a bargain!
I went for this idea (blue automotive low tack masking tape) when I picked my V8VSR up, but still managed to collect two stone chips on the trip from Exeter to Chester but then I'm not as anal as Ron Dennis

It is very low tack so leaves no residue, the PPF guys ought to be cleaning the car down before they appy it any way!
