how many at Hever Castle, 100+? That was certainly AMOC too...
Ohhh, you'll anger the mighty Tony Hall (38??) with that. And you won't like him when he's angry... His car gets even cleaner...Tony organised Hever Castle for a few mates and it grew wings! it wasn't an AMOC event, just Tony's hard work. Very, very good day out

The Hever Castle thing looked really good, I enjoyed looking at the pictures.
Will there be similar shenanigans next year?
According to the article it will be June 24th 2012.Will there be similar shenanigans next year?

Just a question about etiquette at these events. If I saw a particularly clean V8SR I'd say "hello mikey". Or a man in a kilt eating a bacon sandwich in between smoking a pipe "Hello Jockman". People seeing a grown man crying next to a pile of the remains of a Mako V12 would say "Hello John".
But really, do people take name badges or is that naff and too much like a conference?

understand that thought. Went on my own as Aston Annie was busy. Just say hello and start talking to people. Went and said hello to the the Lagonda owner as I loved them as a kid in the 70's (yes I am that old!). Met him 3 months later in a hotel in France! started talking to another another guy with a V8V, turns out it was Pommehogster with 'Jessica'.
generally turn up and say hello, most Aston owners are quite normal with a similar passion for the cars.
I have been member of AMOC for 2 years and would recommend going to a local meeting before deciding whether, or not, to join. As it happens, the monthly meetings in my area are very well attended and the cars that turn out cover nearly all era's. ( I haven't yet seen a pre-war car attending, but then I cannot get to every meeting and may have missed out! ) In addition, I would also mention that the membership, based on my personal experience, is incredibly diverse, all ages, all backgrounds and quick to welcome any new faces turning up for a chat.
Just posted my cheque for next yr (must be the 5th or 6th).
Our monthly meetings not always well attended but other AMOC meetings as has been said are fantastic.
I'd agree with.....

We were also PCGB but never really made welcome or fitted in! (still love the car though).

I hang around with amoc and turn up at their events. They are really very welcoming. I did wonder what they would be like as i 'only' have a DB7 VV, but i was surprised at their interest. I havent joined not because i dont rate the club, only because i am too tight. I am a member of the TVRCC at £38 or there abouts, the Harley Riders Club, at the same amount, used to be a member of JEC at the same amount, so how on earth can amoc justify over £100 initial joining fee and £85 thereafter?? My other clubs offer a fist class magazine, back up, great social events and much more. My only criticism of our local amoc is that they never actually go for a drive anywhere together as a club, they only meet up somewhere. Gotta say the best event last year was as has been said earlier, Hever Castle, and that was sorted by Tony Hall.
