Crikey Lewis, history lessons as well !!!
I was 8yrs old when the Argentines invaded the Falklands. When you've been raised on stories of Tiger Tanks and running stark naked at Jerry rather than having a cup of tea, a real live actual war was exciting beyond belief!Currently reading Vulcan 607, what a mission!
LBS, I never got your mail regarding Devon... No idea how PMs work on Pistonheads!
This also has to be a recond for going off topic as well. Jockman's influence has spread far and wide, he'll be heading south for rebellion before we know it!

Did you know the Belgrano survived the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbour (as the USS Phoenix) to be the only ship ever sunk by a nuclear submarine (HMS Conqueror)? Long history for that ship!
Aw, that was the random fact about the Belgrano I was going to post, but I had to go for a meeting instead! I remember reading it on Wikipedia a few months ago when it was the article of the day Well wish I hadn't contributed to the "Sinking the Belgrano" comments, as everyone else was at school at the time of the Falklands. Making me feel old!
Other interesting Naval facts?
The Kursk wasn't the first sub the Russians lost, they used to lose one on average every 18 months, but wasn't until Perstroika that they started publicly admitting it.
The Russian Nuclear powered subs used to make most of their crews Jaffas (seedless).

Did you know it was sung by a type of Torpedo developed in the 2nd World War (point and hope)? So quite fitting device to sink it.
MADE IN SCOTLAND - 21 inch Mk 8 torpedoes- Royal Naval Torpedo Factory (RNTF) in Alexandria, Scotland. We used to send our goffers(go for this, go for that if you dont know)to the local motor factors for a 'short stay' very often the storeman would tell them to 'hang on and i will find you a long weight' ...these days you would find yourself in front or a tribunal..ah the good old days

Hi Tim.
Shoulder is much improved thank you. Its a shame my op prevented the SW meet I was trying to arrange. Maybe next year.
My consultant wants me off until the new year but I intend to go back to work beginning of December.
Back behind the wheel regularly now, tis wonderful.

Please listen to your consultant. The one with many years of medical training and experience. Take December off and enjoy the great British weather. Seriously though - take your time with recovery.
