If you care... I really wouldn't bother! wink

11 is very low, my chavved-up DB9 is much more like 16 I think and I don't take it steady in that. Though I don't really look, just seem to see it when I flick though the options to see the range.

Over 2000 miles, about 12mpg.

Full bore acceleration - about 4mpg.

The trip computer on mine says 18mpg if it's to be believed, must be spread over 4k miles although I have just been on a long run down to Devon which I'm sure helped.

I picked this up from a review...

Urban 11.64mpg / 24.26 l/100km
Extra Urban 24.05mpg / 11.74 l/100km
Combined 17.28mpg / 16.35 l/100km

and from the Aston official PDF :

Fuel consumption litres/100 km (mpg)
_ Urban 24.3 (11.6)
_ Extra-urban 11.7 (24.1)
_ Combined 16.4 (17.3)

does anyone get anything near 24MPG Extra Urban???? I'm planning on a lot of touring next year and want to know whether anything close to this is possible..

If you drive in cruise control at 65mph you can get about 28mpg out of the V12V.

You will also die of boredom.....

Thanks John... its interesting as I can't get that from my 4.3.
I was also talking to Mike from BR. He told me Jessica would return greater MPG than my 4.3 due to the higher torque produced by the engine.. I guess this must hold true for the V12 too...

It's a quiet day in the office wink

cheers all..

Richard.

Oh yes. It's 50p per mile to drive a V12 - just for petrol....

The thing is, I just love the sound when you run the engine at high revs. So I often cruise around at 60mph in 2nd. if you are more sensible and upshift to 6th at 30mph then you'll do a lot better.

But if you want fuel efficiency buy a bluemotion diesel vw polo.

If I just drive around London, 7.5 mpg. If I just drive on the motorway, mid-20s mpg. A mix results in 15 mpg. Very similar to the M5.

I've never worried about mileage too much so I've never tried to extend my range, but it's my understanding that cruise control is not very good for fuel consumption because the car is constantly adjusting throttle to maintain a speed. Anyway, IMO you don't buy a V12 if you're really concerned about fuel consumption . . .

Buy a V12 and then tell me you don't want to rev it....

Don't laugh but Lady S has one of those (her choice). I rarely drive it but it does what it does very well and regularly returns 70 mpg - keeps her happy so it has at least one use hehe

I have an S65 AMG V12 and on a long run at a sensible 80mph I will get just over 20 mpg. On days to work - city traffic and a short stint on motorway - in total 42 miles I get 18 mpg. Bad but not as bad as some V12's on this tread!!
