I also got FREE 7 day cover from AVIVA for simply asking them for a quote!! I did an Hpi check on the car last night and got an e-mail from Aviva saying I could have 7 day cover for free if I call them for a quote.

Chuffed, as I collect the car on Monday or Tuesday and am then away for a week smile

I might go to Lockton's again after the BR work has been done. It would be such a high value, modified vehicle (to me at least) that I'd want it insured for far better than market value!

Sorry to resurrect this one but as I'm nearing my renewal time I went back on confused.com to double check my renewal only to find Admirals quote gone down even further to £477!!

If I uncheck the tracker box it only goes up to £500, would you keep your (£250) subscription running for peace of mind? I'm in rural Oxfordshire so without wishing to tempt fate it's pretty sleepy.

Made me laugh though as the chap from Admiral rang me up saying "nice car by the way how about we try and get it below 400 quid with a multicar policy!" Have they not realised what they are insuring?!

I'm very tempted by the £500 quote to save £450 over last years insurance plus the £250 for the tracker and put both bits of cash towards a new amp for the hifi ;D
How old is your car? Admirals policy wordings states:

"If any lost or damaged parts are no longer available, we will only pay the cost shown in
the manufacturer’s latest price guide, together with reasonable fitting costs. If your car
is three years old or more, we may decide to repair it with recycled parts or with parts
which have not been made by the car’s manufacturer but are of a similar standard."
Interesting, I will ask them about that when I speak next, thanks for the nod!

Oof. Mine's £2100 for all 7 cars with the Mrs tacked on for free! ClassicLine beat Locktons for me, but that's beacuse of the business I have brought them I suppose.
Yes alright stop bragging! It's down substantially from the £4200 from my current premium, so think yourself even luckier!

I was really impressed with Locktons... Claire the insurance lady was great.. really helpful and more important understood something about the cars!!! A first from the brokers.

I ended up getting full business cover and all the other extras for about £500 less than anyone else could offer me. It was even better as I kept having to go back and ask for extras and every time it was yes we can do that... I asked the cost and was told its inclusive.

The AMO membership is a nice touch and the guaranteed value is great. I would highly recommend.
