Going to go on this in April

Should be great to spank someone else's V12V around Millbrook...
Sounds great, I need to do it in the new year, hopefully they'll have a manual DB9/DBS for me to use.

Why don;t you come to Brooklands on Sunday and tell us all about it..? wink
They don't have any cars at the moment - I am waiting to hear from Nicky later today or tomorrow to confirm the date.

But before then I am off on the 20th to take my V12V up to see the Bamford Rose team. If you are going for 550bhp from a pipe and slippers car I think I need to aim for 700bhp from a sports car...

I want to hear the verdict. I may well follow you if it's exciting.

Both, but more the 700 bhp.

I am not going to commence work until late 2012 - when the warranty expires. This is an initial meeting for a tiny modification and to start to understand what Mike and his team can do. And to start to work out how much this will cost. And if the car will be driveable by a mere mortal like me...

I suspect with 40% more power going through the rear wheels, you will have to be some sort of driving god. Let me know if you require my services for a test drive wink

I can drive manuals, I just vastly prefer paddleshift (and see them as far superior). Oddly enough though, my fantasy garage doesn't have many semi auto/auto cars in since I predominantly like 80s/90s supercars and lightweight British sports cars. I will make an exception for those though, any brand new car I get will be paddleshift smile

Just wahat you need, the ability to hit walls that little bit faster...

I'll be taking mine up there on the 23 or 24th for a service, my new wheels/tyres, a geo and a proper chat about the workscope. Can you change your date and get up there in the same day? I'm skiing on the 20th or I'd change!

Nope, my diary is pretty full. Always hard to get time off.

I might see you on Sunday at Brooklands...

I hit the wall at 3mph...

The plan with the V12V Monster project is to make a V12V S++

(If you're a quant you may get the humour there, everyone else, ignore)

Rip out and replace with better parts, bore/stroke to 7.0 or 7.3. May end up with a flappy paddle box - depends on the torque output and what the graziano box can handle.

Top speed won't change much but I want to have much punchier performance between 5mph and 140mph.

That extra 190bhp could have made it 4mph...

Would be good to put a name to the face and the stories, hope you can make Brooklands!

With 700 bhp, it will do over 200.

Theoretically yes according to the standard tables. But I doubt that a set of P Zero Corsa tyres will be long lasting at that sort of speed. And to actually run it at that speed I think I would have to go to Nardo in Italy since I've been told that the banked bowls in the UK are not big enough.

But it's not a top trumps exercise. What I want is absolutely brutal mid range power so that it will overtake anything short of a Veyron, 'egg, Zonda or similar on full chat. But utterly stealth. No skirts, splitters, spoilers, diffusers, wheels or other gizmos or gadgets that make it look non-standard.

Oh, and speakers that rise up out of the dashboard since they are very cool.

You might get it at Bruntingthorpe perhaps? Or maybe a VMax event.

Also the tyres should be ok I imagine, the Aventador and MP4-12C use them and do over 200 smile

20-30 miles from a channel port. Find a quiet D road in France with excellent sight lines (2 miles at least straight), check for no buildings, farm turnings etc, and no other vehicles and away you go. No you won't get stopped by the frog police as they won't be there.
Don't try this on their motorways, major roads or near towns as they may be Le Plod about.

No way. RHD car at 200mph at 3am on the wrong side of the road. Does not suit you Sir!

Summer early morning on the Frankfurt to Darmstadt stretch. Just don't do a Bernd Rosemeyr.
